Why do you people want the ugliest movies made in history made into a total war?
I have seen one movie, where some black dude crash lands in some desert and then people hunt him down in a village and whenever they shoot, a gender reveal cum splash goes into the sky for no fucking reason.
Why do you want that?

I keep having an issue with the covens where they just don’t show up. Do you have to establish them in a settlement you don’t own and just leave them unoccupied until you awaken the lord and then you can go take them? If so what a shit system.

Man, rebellions everywhere are raping me
Why did they even fuck with Public Order so much in TWW3, it was fine previously, naturally limiting your expansion and forcing you to actually consolidate your conquests.
At least dumbing down corruption was done because there are now many more corruption types and they wanted to show them off I guess. Even thought I still liked their slower spread and them being harder to eradicate

Just tried playing bretonnia.
1. you do not get reminders for the vow/throth system
2. The tech tree is horrendous and the confederation techs are nearly all useless (as well as most of the rest of the technologies)
3. The peasant economy system is trash and boring and it doesn't make any sense (peasants should be easy to field and knights more rare)
4. The buildings are mostly bad (except the farm economy ones)
5. You don't get any tier 0 units, so you can't even recriuit trash peasants as filler when you take a new territory
6. You don't get access to any good units until tier 3
-foot squires are unlocked tier 4 (lol)
-blessed trebuchet is unlocked tier 5 (lmao)
-questing knights take 2 turns to recruit
7. Lord and hero skills suck
8. The chivalry system is boring
9. The green knight implementation is awkward and seriosuly outdated (and he's not that good)
10. You no longer get walls at tier3 settlements which used to be a nice bit of flavour

The only good thing about bretonnia is no supply lines and good tier 4 and 5 knight units.

Insane that CA now recommends this race to newcomers to the franchise

Why are ranged lords and heroes so god damned useless in this game? Spellcaster lords/heroes can single target down characters AND AOE murder entire armies, melee characters can hammer or anvil like gods and 1v1 even the strongest monsters. Meanwhile, ranged heroes and lords do not even compare, they are terrible at single target, and even worse at multi target. Why are they THIS bad? The only time I see them ever do anything resembling real damage is in auto resolve. Is what they are there for? Stacking auto resolve in your favor? Because they sure aren't worth the slot in actual manual battles. I would genuinely rather have another unit of cav or a line holder than a ranged "hero", they are so weak it's unreal.

>>
>>583718775
That's false, they are just as useless as every other ranged lord, until you persevere through them being useless for 10-20 turns and then they become a Steam Tank, which is about what it takes for a ranged hero to actually be useful, which is transforming into an entirely different unit altogether.

Can't these cheatsfags show a little bit of restraint? I swear, every time I try a cheat it's so ridiculously stupid it boggles the mind. I got tired of not having a full array of legendaries on my Lords and having to randomly throw items to fill out their slots, so I grabbed the artefeacts cheat that gives you a full four slots, with loreful items. Except the fucking buffs they give you are insane. If you finish Karls items, among other things, it gives +8 MA/MD to the ENTIRE FACTION. Even just giving it to his own army would be retarded, but no, let's just give it to every single stack and garrison you have, because that makes sense. What the FUCK are these people thinking? Is it so hard to make cheats content for this game that is reasonable and in line with the rest of the game? Why must they always take it to the point that it trivializes the entire experience? This game is easy enough already without such nonsense.
>>
>>583719185

>>583720318
Not surprised you lost, your only hope is your handgunners but you don't have enough counters to the dogs, cavalry and bats to keep them safe and give them clean lines of fire on Vlad so you are pretty doomed. The Lahmians are a bitch too but your real problem is you have no way to effectively stop his flyers, dogs, and three much stronger cav than the mere two you have from overwhelming your ranged, which are your only hope of killing Vlad, the Lahmians, the Blood Knights AND the Mournghuls. RIP, never engage Vlad until you have a super strong stack or two stacks to his one.
>>
>>583720459
Vlad is not a problem, I killed him 3 times already
The raise dead entire stacks out of nowhere that include units he is not able to recruit is the problem.
>>
>>583720672

>Tier 5
Lol. Lmao.

Bretonnia has best cavalry at t2, but that isnt saying much. At t3 they start getting cucked against AL cavalry and by T5 they've fallen to the wayside to most Monstrous cavalry. For the most part their cavalry is nothing special, and as a tradeoff their infantry and ranged suck hard whereas other factions with almost as good or better cav get far better infantry/ranged.

There is genuinely no point in using Wood Elf heroes over Wood Elf units because of that, yeah. Wood Elves LLs only escape from the curse because, ironically for the mega focus ranged faction, they're all melee and casters, except two of them are "hybrids" who you just use as melee lords anyway, except they occasionally shoot stuff as they charge towards the enemy.

They can be all right as Glade lord+glade captain+waywatcher artillery group, stick them on one large unit/monster while the army fights then half way through the battle make sure they're plinking away a second monster/monstrous infantry/cav/etc
They have homing arrows too so while slow it's consistent
>>
>>583718546
>>583725924
Ranged lords/heroes are fine and balanced because they can generate ~50% more gold value over the fight than it costs to pick them (if they get to shoot enemy SEM the entire time). They are SEM value counters.

That only holds up until you compare them to having three actual units from the Wood Elf roster, which will out perform them significantly. Heroes take time to build up, and start off weak, that's why it's supposed to be rewarding and they are supposed to be powerful once they start gaining enough levels. But with ranged heroes and lords, that payoff never happens and you are always better off just using an actual unit, which outperform them from start to finish in any given campaign.

First of all, get rid of peasant economy because it's fucking retarded that recruiting about 800 peasants means Bretonnia gets emptied of population. It's double retarded considering Chaos Dwarfs have an economy entirely based on slaves and yet throwing thousands of slaves at their enemy without their economy resenting it at all is their most basic tactic.
Second, make their vows/troths less of a checklist to use higher tier units and more of a roguelike character progression system based on what they go through in the campaign. Focus on how their quests mold them as characters, which is actually what Bretonnia was about when they released in Warhammer 1 with the big character traits update at that moment.
Third, make their decent units available earlier, Bretonnian early game is MISERABLE and the fact they get "Greatswords but worse" at fucking tier 4 is a damn joke.

>It's a shame revolutions never come until it gets so bad that the intellectuals start to suffer.

This guy thinks he will be the party elite.
Revolutions only occur when people and their children go hungry. Self styled 'intellectuals' almost always end up casualties in the revolution because being an 'ideas' guy doesn't produce food.

Almost always, unless they help orchestrate the revolution for their coup for power, 'intellectuals' are the most ardent defenders of the status quo and the very last portion of any society to realise it is futile. Modern equivalents of 'intelligentsia' are the most pampered, soft, and protected class of human beings to ever live. They will cry and moan about their ideas and status quo right up until the wall.

Do you fine people agree that the early game feels the best? No matter the faction it's only the first battles and first conquered towns that feel really meaningful. You carefully pick skills, equipment, pay attention to quests since they handsomely reward you with much needed cash. You pay attention to your army comp, losses and replenishment, trying to squeeze as much out of your limited early roster...
Why can't they make the whole game to feel like early game? Maybe they should make leveling slower and reduce the stacking campaign bonuses I honestly don't know where exactly the problem lies.
I find it hard to play any campaign past turn 30 or 40. I know I miss on a lot of stuff, but it's so difficult to continue caring.

What I meant to say, is every successful revolution happened because the people who in previous times would be welcomed into the upper class, suddenly are not welcomed, and in fact are being treated just as poorly as the lower class people they thought they escaped from.
Only then do you have enough people of influence to rally/round-up the lower class into actually working together.
Intellectuals was a lazy shorthand

>>583735193
I found with the Old World Campaign I kept the "early game" feeling for much longer.
I think the map design is a major factor, usually by turn 30-40 you've conquered everything you want to conquer and defeated everyone you wanted to defeat, and now are dealing with the shitty factions who don't really feel connected to your campaign goal at all.
With the Old World Campaign, you can be 50 turns in and still not even have all of the Fog of War revealed for the Empire.
>>
>>583735193
Yes lol. This has been a very common complaint about TW since, I dunno, the very first one? The game is at its most fun when you have limited armies and resources and your few high tier units are supported by primarily low tier units and you actually feel the impact. When you and the enemy both have one monstrous unit that you have to consider how to best use yours and how to deal with their's, the battles are engaging and fun. Late game you have an entire army of monsters.

Typically the game is most fun in the early to mid game, by the end game you're stomping everything. That is what TW has TRIED to fix for decades with end game events like invasions from foreign armies, realm divide, etc.
>>
>>583735368

Actually good ideas. Peasants need to be what they're supposed to be in the lore, giant chaff to throw at the enemy to hold them down in preparation for the glorious charge, which means they should be super easy to recruit, plentiful, and have major replenishment buffs. Bretonnia shouldn't have good infantry but they should have huge mobs of infantry that can tarpit better than anyone else in the game.
>>
so bloodthirsters are basically just big chaos furies that die just as fast on their way over to the enemy, and if you look away from their combat for more than 5 seconds
>>
>>583735158
The house had no running water, electricity. Had maybe 3 rooms at best and was made out of unsealed wood floors and walls. Oh you mean in the cities? 1-2 room rat and roach infested shitholes wit no electricity, dirty 'running' cold only water and outdoor pits for toilets. Having to start a fire to heat the stove up to boil water for baths? or coffee or toast or anything?

Sure, houses are a rort now, but a house from 1950 would be unliveable by modern standards. If for nothing else running a modern fridge tv and charging your phone would short the whole house.

>>583735421
Old World Campaign is a mod that changes the map? I did think that "The Empire" is too small for my tastes, and it's been my favorite region to play in.
Does the mod also change how fast you progress in terms of buffs and economy? It's just that I feel like it's one of the boredom factors as replenishment and leadership become meaningless very quickly I feel like.
I also don't like how in the end your main character ends up becoming an unkillable god, even if it's some puny mage like Balthasar Gelt of the Empire. You can throw him right into the line of spearmen and he'll just beat them all to death with his stick eventually.
I'll go check this mod out anyway, as bigger map does sound nice.

>>
>>583735193
Yes, this is a known problem with TW games. The issue is that once you start snowballing nothing is really challenging or interesting anymore, since you no longer need to really pay attention to what you're doing since the campaign is over already, and now you're just going through the motions. They tried to fix this with things like crisis, but it ultimately does nothing except add to the tedium of the late game as you send all your giant armies at all of their giant armies and fall asleep or just start auto resolving everything it's all so trivial. CA should be trying to figure out how to keep you from getting to that point and basically making what you get in the early game the ENTIRE game, if they ever want to fix the issue. Easier said than done, of course.
>>
>>583735439
>That is what TW has TRIED to fix for decades with end game events like invasions from foreign armies, realm divide, etc.
I've never even seen end game events, they happen sooo late, like in a hundred of turns. You need to have an iron will to play that long.
I know you can adjust the invasion time, but I kept it default as I don't know how strong they are and what they even do.
I've seen streams where end game chaos invasion just helped the streamer get rid of his opponents, and then he just defeated what was left of them which was quite funny.

Old World Campaign Classic removes everything that wasn't in Total Warhammer 1, so it's a lot easier to run on systems that can't handle Old World.

As for your other issues, unfortunately you'll need to look for other mods that cover those.
Famously SFO slows down the entire campaign in major ways and rebalances everything, but it'll be at least a month if not three before that mod is updated again.

sounds good, might give it another run eventually
it's genuinely simply better to play on that map than with IE for the old world races, the AI is too retarded to utilize the IE map, cept goofy stuff like occaissional invasion trains it barely leaves its continent so what's even the point of having naggarond on the map (altho yes after the update turn times are very fast n that's good)

i really wish WH3 was a globe map that wrapped around properly, it would improve the game so much its insane, make both the player and AI more dynamic, cathay colonizing naggarond every time, cathay being a factor for naggarond at all
etc
but its impossible in this dogshit engine i guess + too much work for CA

>2. The tech tree is horrendous and the confederation techs are nearly all useless (as well as most of the rest of the technologies)
I remember it feeling innovative and powerful at the *time*, but with the pace of the game most of these factions just aren't gonna be alive by the time you've researched it.
>3. The peasant economy system is trash and boring and it doesn't make any sense (peasants should be easy to field and knights more rare)
Knights are limited by the virtues and, of course, just having way higher upkeep. The peasant economy system is , I think, a bit misleading in how it's presented, people feel like they should never ever hit the limit 'cause it'll flash RED to indicate something BAD is happening but the bad thing that is happening is that they're getting like +1% upkeep cost to a unit with 70 upkeep. You really don't need to worry about it as much as it seems to imply you do. That said, it isn't really particularly interesting and doesn't really do anything meaningful to the game so it might as well be axed.
>9. The green knight implementation is awkward and seriosuly outdated (and he's not that good)
It really ought to work as an Army Ability, the idea of the green knight is being this mysterious figure that appears from the mist when you need him most (which he can just Do 'cause he's like a ghost). That doesn't feel right when you have to go through a bunch of hassle to have him walk multiple turns to go into the army you want him in and then shuffle a unit out to make room and then shuffle the unit back in when he dissappears leaving a big green-knight shaped hole in your army.

I agree that the early game is the most fun by far, but you also want that progression, as a goal if nothing else. I wonder how the mini campaigns will work, maybe they will make it work with some overarching progression and some sort of reset over and over

In what is likely to be the last major naval battle of the Boshin War, the Sendai attack the port of Tosa in a daring raid. They hoped to finally sever the Tosa Samurai Republic, led by Saigō Takamori, from their foreign support. However, to the great misfortune of the Sendai, naval endeavors is the one area in which the Samurai Republic acknowledges the necessity for gunpowder.
>>
>>583739176
Scale is not the problem, and what they do with 40k isn't a solution.
In Attila, both Rome campaigns were awesome to play, and you already start big there.
In Warhammer, managing the big empire is just a chore, as nothing presents threat to you and as another anon pointed out, everything is so gigabuffed you don't have to pay attention to stuff anymore.
Which leads to you mindlessly clicking buildings/armies, which leads to boredom.
Short answer - the progression itself is shit, not the scale.
Better city/building management system would help a lot with this, but we're long past that.

It's a known bug. If the faction is wiped, the game deletes all of their items.

Total Rebirth.
Reworks both campaign and battle sides.
On the campaign you have medieval 2 style province and building systems.
In the battles, you have guns work like guns, requiring straight LoS. Same goes for crossbows. Some generals have bodyguard units attached to them, magic is not as spammable (but still strong), cavalry fucks, etc.
Battles are often (but not always) over much quicker since you don't have unkillable lords and heroes slogging everything down. Units rout only once - if the unit broke, it broke, it won't be coming back at you 10 times with 5 dudes remaining.
Feels... a lot different, but if you're familiar with how Shogun 2 plays, you'll adjust quickly.
But the only fully completed faction is Empire now. I think the dev is working on dorfs next.
Balance/unit overhauls are done for every faction though, so it's playable already.

This has been an issue in total war for some time. It's why I favor the idea of hotseating campaigns or restarting mid-campaign within that campaign, as it is the cheapest and easiest option. Depending on the game:
1) You just have a 4th wall switch. Let you jump into any faction with a cooldown mechanic for it like 50 turns before you can do it again.
2) A canonical switch rooted in lore/in mechanics. Call it centrifugalism or secession. If I could bend CA's ear to make them do it in Medieval 3 the options would be:
>Civil war - you pick which side you want to align with, which dictates which provinces/armies/lords you get. Not a true 'restart the campaign'.
>Secessionism - you pick a lord who chooses to secede, secession being limited to a certain mechanic/feature. IE lord faggus family has dynastic claims to Occitan, you are playing as France and can choose to switch to Lord Faggus. Alternatively, during a civil war you can pick the top 3-5 claimants for the throne who might be secessionist. So in the HRE during a crisis of emperor election you could choose to become Bohemia, Saxony, Austria, ect.
>4th wall switch as noted before - start playing as the Mamluks then switch to Kievan Rus for no reason after 50 turns pass.

This lets you build up an empire and then try switching to tear it down, or build up an empire then switch to a small state far away to experience the early game all over again.

Very strong, maybe even too strong for now.
They spook your guys, and now you only need to get spooked once to rout, as I said. Morale is key, so a general who can spam "stand your ground" is almost a requirement.
On the other hand, Vcount generals don't have bodyguards attached to them (like necromaners), and vcount units are very dependant on generals, so it's their weak spot.
They're also very weak to spearwalls, and generally solid formations.
Oh yeah, now all units have formations. Be it a simple loose formation, all special formation, like spear/pike/shieldwalls, etc.

Old World is also simply better designed because it's more natural in a way. Immortal Empires was optimized too hard around people playing it so now you have everything close to each other and can move from settlement to settlement in 1 turn, essentially only hoping between sieges. Which is why people complained there are no normal battles in game and they had to remove city battles from settlements without walls as a workaround.

In the old world you sometimes even have to walk for 3 or 4 turns before you reach another settlement. It requires more commitment and long term planning for your strategy and you can't even save scum mistakes so easily unless you want to repeat 4 turns or so.

Enemy factions can snowball harder too. As Karl you wont be able to snipe Vlad and Festus quickly. By the time you deal with Festus, Vlad will have like 30 settlement sized Empire to face you, with multiple armies. It's actual war then and there are other enemy factions around everywhere too. In IE you can quickly neutralize factions by defeating their single stack and then chain sieging their cities not letting them recover. Not here.

>I had like 150 turn Kislev campaign in TOW and it was best fun I had in tww3

When I did a Vlad campaign in TOW I was surprised.
First I had to remove the orks who invaded Sylvania.
Then I had to beat the rebellious vampires in other parts of Sylvania into submission so that I could have a united state.
Then I had to deal with the Ogres who were running the moot, and tomb kings who were just there for some reason.
I was able to make friends with Drycha to keep my northern border secure (she already fucked up most of the empire there, but as I was starting my assault on the empire, the Skaven based out of Mordheim, who now had several settlements between Mordheim and northern Sylvania, declared on me.
By the time I finally reached Altdorf, I had fought five different races, each of them in proper wars, and was looking like I might be fighting Nurgle next.

That shit is great fun.

Less health and mass than a dragon, and no breath ability to soften up targets, but they're about as fast in flight and make for a smaller target. They also have minor self-heal capacity that drains nearby enemy entities, so you get good mileage out of them against chaff infantry. With Mannfred that also works well with his ability to generate WoM in melee. Basically, a net upgrade.

I really don’t understand people shitting on spirit hosts on either roster, I’ve gotten a ton of early game value and they’re an amazing tar pit if your enemy has no magical attacks, and early and cheap armor piercing is again crazy for early game undead factions. For counts I don’t see a lot of meaningful buffs taking them past the mid game (the unit caps and if you’re high on blood and low on corpses you’ll still find some of them in most armies), but for Nagash I used them for an amazingly long time for a unit that is supposed to be trash.
>>
Man I love the meatshield upgrade zombies so fucking much. They just take beatings all day long and just won't fucking die.

>>583748884
It's funny too because I feel the propaganda side actually completely misses what is cool about vampires and what makes them terrifying, which is the unending pitched battles and wars of attrition you quite literally cannot win because soldiers dying is literally good for them, while the vampires are rare leaders that will pop out of the endless mass of chaff to suddenly kill your own officers with scary efficiency.
While pretending Vlad was some combined arms strategist just kinda makes him the same as the Empire generals he faces. It's not impressive like, say, Gorbad or Khazrak being famous for that either, since in their case half the reason it's impressive is that they do it with normally completely uncontrollable hordes of retards that barely understand orders. Vlad just does it with completely obedient troops who never rout.

Unless an enemy has a lot of units with magic attack a single corpse cart with unholy lodestone in a blob of zombies eill hold for days against any kind of melee assault while your lord and heroes and later SEMs and blood knights kill all the high value targets.

You have it backwards. Knight's Errant suck. Royal Hippogryphs are the glorious airforce.

Tier 3 gives Knights of the realm who are AL and the best T3 cav in the game. Combined with QKs, you should be able to win against most high tier AI armies. Some shitters just don't know how to use shock cav.

Grail Knights are kind of lacklustre but Grail Guardians are great.

Is anyone else autistic about not confeding cannonical faction leaders? It makes no sense for another DE LL to confederate Malekith, or Repanse or Alberic to confederate Louen, or and imperial LL to confed Karl. Sometimes you can make a believable story most of the time, it makes no sense.

Game 1 has the closest to a story mode for Empire and Dwarfs, and with the DLCs it even has some mini-stories for beastmen/woodelves.
3's Prologue is the best 'story mode' of the series though, and the first time they ever put that kind of effort in.
Game 2's Vortex map if you're NOT playing a core faction has decent story modes, Game 3 has the same with the Realm of Chaos map if you're NOT playing a core faction as well.

I kind of wish Bretonnian Knights in TWW had the Dauntless ability they have in Blood Bowl
The short version is, when fighting a foe stronger than the knight, as long as the Bretonnian Knight makes the charge (or is the one to force the dice roll in blood bowl) he gets to count his strength as equal to his foe assuming he makes a dice roll.
Would be kind of sweet to make them absolute murderers on the battlefield if they could just copy enemy weapon strength if the enemy is buffed higher than them.

I like the idea of that - it'd make them do or die, you need to charge them against a threatening enemy and hope that they survive. I'd make it so they can't just cycle charge else it defeats the purpose. More like
>You get a match to their weapon strength on your charge
>That unit is unable to charge until the enemy they charged is either routing, broken, or dead.
>If that unit is told to attack another unit, to retreat, given any command other than "Kill that nigga" they suffer a major debuff.

I always like to think of Grail Knights as a little naive.
Like I'm imagining in some battle Johann gets grievously injured and has to be put in a hospital bed.
Upon waking up, realizing 'he' has been stripped of his clothes as part of being bandaged up and all, waking to see Sir Paris there, at the bedside.
Johann in a panic over the fact Sir Paris knows the truth.
And Sir Paris not letting Johann get a word in, thanks Johann for his good service, and regrets to inform 'him' that Sir Paris defended Johann's honor despite the fact the Surgeon tried to suggest the good Pilgrim were a liar, but unfortunately even with the Surgeon corrected on the matter, nothing could be done to save Johann's dick and balls, almost as if they were never there to begin with.
Sir Paris of course respecting if Johann wishes to retire after this, and being very proud of the brave pilgrim for continuing the fight despite 'his' terrible loss.

In the roleplaying game there was an adventure involving a daemonette sealed in a ritual chamber.
The GM was to use secret messages for the players for this encounter, because half of them saw everything around the Daemonette as horrifyingly disgusting, disturbing, and generally hellraiser-esque with a horrifying monster in the middle. The other half of the group was seeing a paradise, an oasis in the desert, with the most beautiful woman of all chained in the middle.
The longer the group stayed and the more they fought about what to do here, the stronger the daemonette's aura would get, but I don't remember the consequences of that.

I owned it but recently downloaded and installed 1212 all excited and then got a sub mod that doubled units sizes because I have a 13900k i9 intel CPU and 4080. The game shit itself with half the troops on screen defending Constantinople than I do right now defending Pfieldorf. I have everything x3 so my crossbowman for example are 270 strong. I sieged Skavenblight in my last campaign with 5000 troops and killed 26000 rats. Atilla runs worse with only 2000 troops on screen.

Mod is amazing, Atilla needs to be rebuilt from scratch by someone(s) who can actually code. The whole thing pissed me off.

t.2500 hours in Rome 2, 1200 in Atilla.

Are there good recommendations to make the other Beastmen lords more unique? I want Morgur to feel more “mutanty” it would be neat if there was a kind of unit mutation mechanic not unlike Throtts but maybe more random, just being around him corrupts the shit out of everyone and he doesn’t really control that. And maybe like mutated reskin of their units where they look even more fucked up.

I don't think there is.
If there's still no plague cooking mechanic for Skrolk, don't hope for anything beastmen-related.

I think I'm feeling pretty done with my Neferata campaign. I own all the wastes, completely exterminated the turk dwarfs. I recaptured Lahmia and its province. Neferata is safely at home enjoying her city. Most of the vampire counts bend the knee to me and I don't really see a reason to try to get a vassal so I can get Vlad since the legendary items are bugged anyway.

Also Archeon just decided it's time to end the world and is going on some crusade which is making a mess of all my goddamn covens because he keeps razing settlements all over the wold. Maybe I'll try to kill Archeon and then call it, or maybe I'll just call it here. Don't know.

Unique campaign in TWW2 called "Vortex" has story mode for base LLs like Malekith and Tyrion and Mors etc. Those have cutscenes and characters talk so that's cool, but basically just enemies spawn out of thin air randomly to attack your cities and it annoyed people. People call it Vortex race
Later additions like Vampire Coast or Eltharion do not take part in Vortex race, but still have their own cool narratives. And people love them.

We will see, because there is a chance Vortex will be ported to TWW3 according to newest leaks

Realms of Chaos campaigns for base races in TWW3 are similar to Vortex Race, but even more annoying so people hate them even more. And unlike Vortex, Realms of Chaos campaign map layout and design sucks.
But Chorfs and Champions of Chaos LLs apparently have cool campaigns. Never tried personally

Realms of Chaos is also dead and doesn't get new additions

To make a fun game you have to give the player control, not take it from him. Making his entire army blow up, making him lose, at random is not fun.

TW3 is more or less the most fleshed out total war game out there by a massive margin, a lot of older TW games had their development abruptly halted and were left with a lot of problems but they do have historical flavor to them and they are by no means bad games.

So if you don't mind fantasy elements and care purely about the gameplay then yes tw3 is by far the best choice, other games are great too and have different historical flavors.

them remastering shogun 2 was really cool, it's the best tw game ever made, the only thing it misses is having a strong modding scene, sadly they never left medieval 2, would love to see the old big projects moved to shogun's 2 faster and newer engine and remastered graphics but probably never gonna happen
maybe we should get those big medieval 2 mods and vibecode them into shogun 2
before some kid asks why shogun 2, it was the last game before the series rework, when recruitment became tied to generals, in shogun 2 the cities build units as they should, that's why it's the best tw game ever made without mods

People who use a specific kind of magic tend to take on a certain look. See the empire wizards for reference, or the various kinds of dragon. The look for necromancy happens to be predatory and bat like.

It's when you have a log in the ol doodoo oven and push it part way out and then suck it back continuously under your pants.
There is a story of a guy who did that at a xmas party and accidentally dropped it out all the way.
>>
>>583768303
What the fuck do you guys read and where
>>
>>583758895
You're being a bit grave with your take anon. That said I remember what one reviewer said where it felt like a good RTS but did not feel like a total war. it may be more of that feeling for the non space marines, who do not rout but instead apparently enter some kind of battle shock with severely reduced performance (So pretty much undead but instead of crumbling just getting their melee defense dropped to 5).

My guess is guardsmen will feel conventional, orcs will kind of, eldar will be wood elves in space, and space marines are wood elf elite ranged on chaos chosen.

>Assume typical empire chaos will happen and make for a hard campaign
>Take out Festus turn 3

wtf I thought his campaign was supposed to be more challenging? The drakenwald is very annoying but all it means in practice is just having a reserve army on the homefront.
>>
any guide somewhere or advice on how to get into TWW3?
I heard all DLC can be used in it, so is there any point in buying the 1 and 2 base games?
any must-have DLCs even for someone just getting into it?
>>
>>583771829
Have you got to the point where beastmeme armies spawn 20 turns away from your armies back in your already peaceful and conquered territory
