The reason why it takes 4 days to liberate a planet during an MO in helldivers 2 is because they want to give a good chunk of the playerbase time to actually participate in the MO, especially with things like sub factions, surges, and the occasional unique/new mission type introduced by the MO. Imagine missing a new mission type because it started after you left for work that day but was cleaned up by the playerbase before you even got home from that same shift.
