kinda hate how Knuckles was flanderized into being an useless retard merely off the fact that he got tricked by eggman in sonic 3, it is fully reasonable and understandable why he wouldn't trust sonic at first, especially since eggman can always tell him "this hedgehog is trying to fuck your island up, i managed to stop him by blowing his death star ripoff up but i'll need full freedom to use the scraps of his inventions in order to stop sonic, okay?" and then show destroyed metal sonic and mecha sonic off as "evidence of this tech being created by sonic" to convince knuckles, but since sonic just so happens to be the protagonist, then that must mean that knuckles is wrong and retarded for not immediately putting all his trust on a random stranger bitch conveniently holding 7 chaos emeralds simply because sonic is the protagonist and couldn't possibly be doubted!!! ever since sonic 3 they just make him keep getting tricked by eggman for no reason even through he's shown his true colors multiple times and now knuckles is either portrayed as stupid or as fodder that gets his shit kicked in by any new villain that walks in, it'd almost make you wonder why they didnt just send someone else in to protect the master emerald already
