ace combat game but the bad guys turn out not to be really bad but just different, and both sides are both right and wrong, and war is something complex and rarely black and white, and winning the war feels bittersweet
Obviously the rainband as depicted in the game doesn't work with a single satellite in LEO. It would need to be in a synchronous elliptical polar high orbit, broadly similar to a molniya orbit although with an argument or periapsis of 0/180° and an apogee of about 71,500km, this way it would only get close to the earth over the rainband over Usea, the problem is that it would only be close to earth once per day, so they'd need more 16 spears to have the same 90min revisit time of the Spear as depicted in the game (on the positive side it'd be 80% more energetic)This would be less threatening to other countries than a spear in LEO, which can be fired at any time, such spear would need to maneuver close to its apogee to be able to strike other regions of the earth, so that'd give a good ~10h of warning time to other countries.It would also be a bit less of a hassle to launch with the ISV, since the spear as depicted in the game, once launched into Geostationary orbit by the ISV, would need to first change inclination from equatorial to polar (presumably with an apogee raise first), then lower perigee to 500km then circularise in LEO, in this case it wouldn't need to circularise to LEO, so you're saving 2.5-3 km/s of delta v (assuming the spear can't aerobrake, which it probably can't since it has no heat shield for a fast aerobraking and is comissioned too fast for a slower one, actually the comissioning time is too fast for ionic propulsion too)

This is how I can reliably trigger PSM.>Decelerate below 500kph>release brake, throttle, and stick inputs.>apply brake and throttle inputs simultaneously>immediately afterwards, pull back on the stickAll that said, I feel like PSMs are a meme. They're far more useful in a game like war thunder instead of being a jerky flip, you can instead have a flanker dance on its tail and then use your head mounted display to fling an R-73 over your fucking shoulder to vaporize the guy on your tail. Actually having time to recover your airspeed after the PSM to avoid crashing in war blunder is a much taller order compared to AC planes instantly recovering, but the PSM itself is a lot more useful in that game.
