Extremely positive response to Mina and Graves caused this by the way. Valve heard loud and clear the community wanted a cute college age girl every new cycle of heroes so they added another one out of obligation. And surprise surprise she's a typical collage art girl just like people responded well to with Mina and Graves. Except this time they screwed up and took out every potential bit of spiciness she could have had and played her completely straight instead of making her a spoiled bitch like Mina or a dumbass goth like Graves. Valve must have known something was wrong with Violet the instant she lost second to Baba. Mina had to be put in instantly because she would have steamrolled the first vote no contest and Graves only lost out to the mascot character. Her design isn't appealing and her character is even worse. At least the kit is relatively inoffensive.
