Coming back to the game after years, it really feels like you're not meant to do anything besides shoot/die at the front line unless you're in an organized group.
It feels so hostile to new/returning players I'm instantly reminded why I quit in the first place. I wouldn't mind joining a clan but I don't want to poopsock or LARP or have to follow a schedule

Literally all of the big clans I see don't demand you follow a schedule or do pretty much anything. They just want you to show up for the operations when they're available and you have time.

You can freeload an aircraft clan and they'd still let you fly the planes and join paradrops.
Doing some logi on occasion (and making sure they know you're doing it) will get you promoted in seconds.

But I do see why people complain about them. Because it's gonna take a couple of days before land people can effectively deal with them.
Since the entire point of the medium boats seems to be to replace barge battles, they have be be unlocked at tier 0. Unlocking them later defeats the entire point of them.

I think the solution is simple. Add new tier 0 boats that only interact with water. Ones that only use the new quillback torpedoes. Then bump up the new boats to unlock when land players have a counter.

And if the enemy puts in a t2 ATG? Good luck you cant supress it anymore, a stray hit from the fmg means it is getting deleted.

Makes me think ATG should unlock for bunkers around when you get halftracks and tankettes need to not have t2 tank armor- they need to be vulnerable to MG fire like an AC is.

It'll cost tonnes of time and rares to buy one. But it's easily the most powerful a single player can be.

Build a stockpile today, move in bulk to the midline tomorrow, and move it to the frontline after that. Using a heavy truck so you can't be easily partisaned.

I still think the greatest return on investment is a flamethrower AC or TAC and lighting bunkers on fire. All you need is a section thats t1 or t2 or something and either a blindspot where you can hit it without ATG retal or just sit there tanking rifle garrison fire.
I just built a giant ass base and I think about the times i burnt down a base this size and easily wiped out 30k bmats worth of shit and when I think it took me this long to dig and hammer it all, yeah. Fire is super fucking OP if you pull it off.

Foxhole just wasn't built for them
The server can barely handle them, and the game's design philosophy can't either
Logiman and builderman can handle only so much frustration till they quit, and without them the game completely breaks down
The top down perspective is massively detrimental to aircraft gameplay
Hexes and queues don't work well with aircraft gameplay either

Here's hoping the devs work on adding good AA fast so that planes don't completely dominate all other types of gameplay forever

Every update kinda makes it more obvious the game needs a server overhaul, or probably more realistically porting to the anvil engine (essentially Foxhole 2).

I think at least so far the plane gameplay in this war has been insanely fun so I don't share your pessimism about their negative effect on the game. Logiman I don't feel much empathy for and even they will likely endure and eventually there will be AA AI and better mobile AA tools to help them cope with the air threat.

Have you found a game that scratches a similar itch? I can't stand the devs anymore. Foxhole has a unique blend of features and there's nothing else like it. If you wanna find something similar you need to decide which *part* you like most.

There's Star Wars Galaxies (revival) with it's complicated crafting system I guess. Albion Online has a "delivery" aspect which has a bit of real economy behind it. Arma Reforger has a basic logistics system. There was some souls-like mechanics in Death Stranding right? Open Perpetuum I think has a player economy? Star Citizen and Elite: Dangerous trade runs seem like fetch quests that don't impact the game world. There's also this game "Eco"

I don’t remember anyone complaining about dogfights between scout planes on the dev branch being one-sided (most complaining was about sea fighter vs collie fighter or dive bomber being too good), which would imply this is a recent change.
Given my own dogfighting experience and many anecdotal reports, yes the colonial scout has worse turning and is much easier to hit. The data mine is another line of evidence that something was changed

Because we played with the not "fixed" planes before and they felt balanced and even and literally nobody complained that one was better than the other (aside from torpedo VS sea mine bullshit).
