They're commanding way too few men for such a leadership position over way, way, way too large of an operating area. Even assuming that marine companies work like modern recon companies its still not possible to wrangle that amount of information managing entire continents or even planets worth of ops.

I really enjoy those little one-off alliances. Pic related has a fun one where a tau expedition sets off to investigate an abandoned imperium facility. Turns out it was an Ordo Xenos outpost that was experimenting on tyranids, Aliens-style. It ended predictably. The tau expedition then discovers that they're actually the second team to get there, as a Deathwatch kill team had already tried--and failed--to destroy the facility decades or possibly centuries prior. The whole team is dead, of course, except for a single Iron Hand, who has essentially been in a kind of horrible standby-mode ever since. One of the tau, who had been infected with a gene-stealer's bite, juices him up enough to get him moving again and stays behind with him in the shared understanding that they're going to go deeper into the facility and find a way to destroy it. Maybe a dozen words are exchanged total, but they both agree that, one, they're both going to die, and, two, the tyranids need to die with them. Great story.

Aesthetic, tone and lore are both entirely different despite the base similarities. Had the benefit of hindsight existed on creating the IH, then GW would have probably disbanded them into a second founding Chapter like the BTs, called them some shit like The Omnissiah's Blessed, gave them the AdMech's Forge World paint schemes with Mars being the base, and then maybe made them a little goofier. The AdMech are probably some of the most consistent sources of goofy humor in 40K, so that being translated into an Astartes Chapter would have made them far more popular.

I picked up the power fist just yesterday, and was about to ask, how do I use the block fist?
Block doesn't stagger enemies so there's no opening for a follow-up, or at least I don't know how to make one. Fencing is pretty nice and save, but I want to try out Block's damage.

Yep, it becomes an absolute beast at artificer due to this perk. It does have a target limit, so it can't penetrate all enemies, but it still hits a decend chunk. Basically ranged heavy attacks, I'm enjoying it a lot.
One thing I didn't expect though is minoris becoming a problem, unless I land a parry with intimidating aura

Early july PTS, cool. Perfect timing for me.
I'm terrified of the terminator sorcerer, that fucker sounds like he could make chaos/mixed ops worse if he shows up. Zero chance he fights in melee either, best fun melee classes can get will likely be some sort of stun like with the neuro. I'm expecting neuro AoEs + tzaangor disc flying + exalted sorcerer spell BS and teleports. If they manage to pull off a boss like this without making it frustrating and unfun, I'll be immensely surprised.
Melta fist is also interesting, I'm curious how they'll handle it.

Some weapons don't even need them. Like the stalker or power fist. Even the power sword's in a pretty good place right now.

What weapons really need that shit are the occulus rifle, the auto bolt rifle, and maybe the inferno pistol. Maybe the melta rifle too to make it compare more favorably to the pyreblaster. Ideally they should get buffs so their relics are at least usable absolute+.

The las fusil got a heroic datamined ages ago. Gimmick might've been that it was charge free. And then they just never put it out. Might've needed more of a gimmick than that, but the fusil could use a heroic too. This game's too jank to consistently land headshots on pad with a rifle like the bolt sniper, so more often than not, I run bolt carbine on my sniper. With the fusil, I run out of ammo too fast. I'm always out of ammo by the time thropes spawn and I need it the most.

We probably aren't fighting guardsmen and AI space marines unless they overhaul the shit out of them. They weren't designed to be player fought enemies, so they don't have movesets that would make them challenging or fun to fight.
They'd need to be on the level of nids and Tsons too, which would take multiple years worth of updates judging by how often they implement new enemy types. Once they did that, there'd be pressure now to put the new loyalist faction into ops, because people aren't gonna like the idea of unique enemy types being siege exclusive.

Maybe one day, but for now, expect to only be fighting Tsons and nids.
Chaos vs chaos makes enough sense since warbands butt heads with eachother more than they even do with space marine chapters or the imperium in general.

The necron power sword's already balanced, and they've never given a melee weapon more than one heroic with the same parry type, so it'll surely be either fencing or block.

I don't think they've even made balanced heroics since the first time they tried. I think they know by now that balanced is considered gay enough where it's going to instantly make any heroic nerfed with it predominantly dissapointing.
I think their main goal with heroics is to help reel back in burnt out players, so I'd be kind of surprised if they ever made another balanced heroic unless they overhaul how balanced parries themselves work, not just juice up the stats.

One Anon suggested that they just make it work like fencing, but cut the timing down to argent edge tier, or even tighter. Basically give it the parry frames a parry would have in a high end action game where you actually have to make contact with the attack the moment it actually hits you. I think that's a pretty good idea.

I like the idea of fencing variants being relegated to training weapons for aspiring meleechads and parry sticks for rangedfags.
Balanced can be for confident meleechads.

The pvp in sm2 is a lot straighter than the pvp in a lot of recent games, I guess because they made it fundamentally so traditional.

They should've had a separate team work on content for the pvp. They could've made chaos marines unique and not just reskins. Shotgunners are complete fucking nidders and really need a more generous melee range. They're bad enough in their normal state, but when they enrage, it's just not fun. Their damage is off the charts and a bunch of them are literally a bigger danger than most extremis or even terminus. However, nids majoris all have huge heads, so that effectively reduces their health.

Barbs and shotgunners are not that bad really. Annoying at times, but if you die to them, 9/10, that's a skill issue.

Make sure your auto aim's set to default. And go for headshots with everything but plasma and melta as much as possible.

Stick with your team.

Flank. Have a plan for dealing with getting overwhelmed if you have to flank alone, like assault's jump pack, heavy's shield, sniper's cloak, etc. And have an escape route.

Stick to low celing areas such as the tunnels and interiors if there are high level ace assaults on the other team.

Bulwark should be shield rushing virtually constantly.

Vanguard and assault can take shortcuts and shoot from crow's nests the other classes can't access.

Sniper cloaks leave shadows, shimmer, and you can highlight them with tactical's auspex. You can also auspex scan people through walls.

Tactical's the only class that can hold two nades, and nades are the strongest weapon type in pvp.

Melee bypasses shields, but ranged dps on most guns is still generally faster, even with needing to eat through armor.

Power sword does more damage in power mode, and two shots with ground pounds in power mode too. The pause combo stunlocks and also one shots. The stunlock will shut down blocking and open them up for the one shot also.

Hammer charge attack one shots. And the hammer has the most ground pound range.

Axe is great against blocking.

Knife has the fastest combos.

Power fist lvl 1 charge attack two shots and stunlocks.

Chainsword I think charges the fastest when you ground pound?

Omni axe might have the fastest one shot move out of it, the power sword, and the thunder hammer.

I think it keeps your stats, just doesn't count what you earned on your first team towards the score of your new team. So you should at least keep your xp for your class and veterancy, which is a much worse grind than grinding for the cosmetics you unlock for winning ops and pvp matches.

The weapon skins you unlock aren't as good as the siege skins either imo.

It's honestly Saber's fault, same with Hard Sieges. First, they don't codify the difficulty the same as in Ops. Normal and Hard suggest something like Average and Ruthless. Then, they bait people with doritos. I honestly don't get why they use these difficulty designators. Just call it Substantial and Absolute+ or something. Even just calling it Absolute despite it being harder would be an improvement. You'd still get a bunch of retards joining with unprestiged no-perk lvl 10 characters, but nowhere near as many, I'm certain.

Helbrutes are easy targets, yes, but how do you rank the Carnifex below a Mutalith? After spending a few minutes in battle sim with it you'll get the hang of it and its melee attacks won't be any trouble anymore. Its ranged attack can be tricky and punishing, it's true, but compared to the Mutalith which has an orbital ion cannon shooting at you 24/7, turns your entire screen pink so you can't see anything while it's apestomping your face, I'd say the Carnifex is an infinitely more manageable target.

I don't see it being anything more than the same old siege with alternating nids and Tsons. Buying space marines, guardsmen, and dreadnoughts will be jarring, but I bet they'll keep that the same too.
Only actual new shit I bet they'll add are pve specific voice lines for CSMs, and maaaaaaybe chaos cosmetics unlockable through chaos siege. I'll pog pretty out if they add chaos capes.

A chaos siege with only one faction, and a faction that's missing shit like biovores, enlightened tzangors, and thropes would be my new favorite mode hands down, but this is Saber.

You clearly don't play assault and then almost always get other melee classes or shitters on your team that die immediately in absolute terminus encounters.
I wish I could run inferno pistol just for that extra 20% melee damage alone. Can't really use the PP either because thropes are resistant to fucking plasma as well as melta. Still have no idea why. They're bullshit enough without punishing you for not bringing bolters, the otherwise worst type of gun in the game.

They'd be funner to fight than Tsons. Just gotta implement some actual feedback from attacking them. Gunshots from medium to heavy weaponry should stagger and make marines grunt in pain/shock.
Explosives should send them ragdolling.
They aren't automotons or bio automotons with little to no sentience, so they should have better AI. Like they use cover, or switch to a full melee moveset when you get close. Think devourers job switching to bone sworders.

Neuros are fine it's extremis / majoris spam during that's a problem
Biovores are fine just annoying
Chaos spawn need removed from the game or made into extremis with spawn limits
discniggers should fly lower
eh, soulreapers are mostly okay, rockets just have a weird hitbox
enraged is a bad mechanic in general and should be removed

The only real problems in this game are chaos spawn using a combat philosophy that is unlike the rest of the game and the vortex beast being a dark souls boss

that and the absolutely horrendous weapon and perk balancing
