Been a while since I actually got to contribute to the drawing challenges. Feels good, man. Bringing back younger Phos for this one, which is a fun puzzle that's quickly endearing itself to me. I kind of see it like a "five minutes to midnight" situation where you can see the hints of the person she becomes starting to surface as she gets older.Growing up in a city as loud and busy as Castelia, it's necessary to be able to make your own quiet. Has your OC ever grown out of control and gotten out of hand?There's a whole bunch other things that led to the OC to begin with which evolved from a bunch of other ideas and what-not but more and more things ended up evolving, changing, developing and more and right now I'm finding myself writing up drafts and ideas and more for a monster catching game I'd like to make someday sometime.Should work on the Pokemon OC though.

Muk isn't fitting at all, it clashes with his "clean" image, especially since he's overly concerned with appearances. Also, his childhood bully turned main antagonist Hubert/Sam has a Trubbish/Garbodor, which would probably further turn him off from "dirty" Pokemon. Persian fits symbolically, but personality wise it's a stretch. Aegislash fits the "royalty" archetype better than Kingdra, especially since it's canonically manipulative, making it also representative of his decietfulness. Glimmora represents his "beautiful but deadly" archetype and Dragapult represents how he's able to sneak into places and get away with it, it literally has the ability Infiltrator. Dragalge/Corviknight is a bit more of a stretch, but I thought he would appreciate the typing. You just went with the first Pokemon that came to your mind based off of his backstory, and didn't consider other factors that make his actual picks more suitable, in addition to also being more powerful competitively. It's not like he has this team from the start either, his full arc is supposed to take 15 years, and it's full of catches and changes before he finally gets to settling on his two teams, and even then he still has alternatives

What had my interest was its ability to act autonomously from the trainer (in the event they were separated or he was injured). Chansey also doesn't really fit into his overall team synergy so would only be there for utility; it could be one of his "other" Pokemon and only called on for long missions, but at that point I wonder if it would just be better to give it to another OC/companion on that long mission.

The spammable. The signature move.Iron Tail aka the Coverage Move: To cover for any holes the Common Move leaves or has. Coverage can be for Type Effectiveness or cover for long/close distance attacking or viceversa.Quick Attack aka the Mobility Move: Self-explanatory, really.Electroweb aka the Utility Move: The one move you can bullshit anime logic an explanation to make it do "something" as needed. Can do any of the previous other three things at a lesser degree. To create openings. For defensive purposes. Etc. Sky's the limit, if the move logic allows.

You can bend things a bit, but some things are just ridiculous, like a Ribombee beating a Corviknight, using an overleveling/critical hit justification on things like that is basically just admitting that you need a deus ex machina for plot reasons. A lot of people here also seem to be biased towards using “unconventional” strategies and ignoring that you can be in meta and still write a compelling fight. For example, Weavile vs Gholdengo. In my opinion, good writing leans towards the meta while also patching up illogical game mechanics such as the aforementioned weakness of Aegislash and Chandelure to an Earthquake. And I guess the anime exclusive type of stuff as well, as long as it’s grounded and still makes sense.
