Its actually crazy that there are zero games like this. Not even the NB series it's based off plays the same. I just want to build up units and take over territories bros

I like them. They add variety from other battlefields in a interactive way and force you to make risky decisions while avoiding too many turns of just getting closer to enemy units.

Gameplay wise it's similar to FF Tactics but the other half of the game is managing and evolving units and taking different provinces, which have their own type associations, farming areas and materials.

I loved Star Wars: Empire at War for that reason. I guess I'll be giving this a shot sometime in the future.
Have you tried the romhacks? Would you recommend them over vanilla?

This is the first romhack I've seen for this, so I can't really tell what this romhack has over vanilla besides sparing you the experience of having an MVP fall because their mon evolved and got a move that was impractical to use.
