I mean it's pretty obvious, you become not only immune to the entire offensive portion of a third of the moves in the game (likely more), but you also reflect the effects onto the user.
The only possible ways this ability could have been weaker are a direct change to how it works, the mass removal/nerfing of offensive status moves, or even more limited availability.
