Which one is more broken?
>>
>>57190577
Mega rayquaza
>>
RBY Mewtwo, probably. Pretty much nothing could reliably handle it, and it could get away with just a single offensive move.
>>
Noticing a distinct lack of Xerneas
>>
>>57190586
Because in gen 6 Fug was top dog.
>>
8.1>8.2>9>>>>>>>6>1
same if the game had dvs still
>>
>>57190590
Only in fanfic meta. In the official format, Xerneas had nearly triple Megafug’s usage. It was closer in Gen 7 but Xerneas was still used much more.
>>
Mewtwo, it could probably solo whole teams with no issue.
>>
>>57190577
Xerneas and Zacian take the cake
>>
>>57190579
Not even in Smogon’s meta anymore. Zacian was better than it in Gen 8 Natdex, and Smogon mods even admitted Miraidon in Natdex was a more pressing matter to ban from Ubers than it.
>>
>>57190854
It's been powercrept sure, but that's why it specifies megafug in gen 6 specifically.
>>
>>57190858
Zacian in Gen 8 and Calyrex in Gen 9 are much more oppressive, regardless. Zacian had the highest usage rate period of any legendary in VGC in addition to being a singles auto-win button. Calyrex is understood as the unquestionably most broken monster in VGC, Smogon, and Smogon Natdex for this gen; it’s not like Rayquaza which was oppressive in singles but otherwise balanced (or worse than primals) for doubles.
>>
Mewtwo, easy. You either Body Slam it into paralyze or it sets up Amnesia once and then you lose or go into a Mewtwo ditto where it comes down to damage rolls.
>>
>>57190577
RBY mewtwo
basically no weakness
is immune to ghost due to an bug
and the only bug type moves that existed at the time are weak as shit and are limited to shitmons so there really was no counter
>>
>>57190876
Another note about Mewtwo is that you can't fuck with sets or held items. You lose the speed check unless you're Aerodactyl (who ties and sucks anyway), Electrode (whose boom isn't enough to guarantee the win anyway), Gengar (who ties and is weak to Psychic), Jolteon (who ties but actually has a shot). Otherwise, you just eat shit. It's hard to overstate how broken Mewtwo is in gen 1.
>>
>>57190577
I wonder how good Mewtwo would be nowadays if you gave it the same special defense and a move that gave it two Calm Minds a la Amnesia
>>
>>57190577
Easily Mewtwo.
No pokemon comes remotely close while the others can at least get ditto’d.

There is no check or counter for Gen one Mewtwo. You paralyze the fucker and hope it doesn’t have rest and then go to war with your team against it or try to bring out your own Mewtwo.
You can’t even rely on any super effective attack since psychics are effectively a god type in Gen 1. Rayquaza’s needs an ability to rise to that godly status while Mewtwo’s power sat at the very foundational structure of these games. Admittedly I dropped after Moon and can’t speak on the power of legends from Gen 8 onwards but I doubt they showcase the sheer gap in power between itself and the rest of the entire existing Dex that Mewtwo did in Gen 1. The games literally were not ready for him and had to introduce two entirely new types to address the Psychic problem where Mewtwo sat as king.
No legendary has ever felt more powerful than Mewtwo in Gen 1 and they never will. It’s ridiculous to thing anything comes close.
>>
>>57191010
Would be disgusting if it still has stored power in its moveset
>>
>>57191010
>154 spdef
>can calm mind twice in 1 turn
>immune to ghost
>can hit dark and steal types for neutral
>1/3 chance to crit
>psychic has 1/3 chance to lower both both spa and spd by 1 stage
yeah ez ag
>>
>>57190583
I actually plays Gen1 Ubers, Mewtwo is not as broken as people might believe.
He is extremely strong and a good win condition for the late game but most times he is usually forced to play the early game and is usually worn down by the opponents mewtwo or is exploded one. When the whole metagame revolves around countering you, you don't really get to do much.

Meanwhile shit like Zacian is so overwhelmingly strong you have very little to even counter you. The fact that the only good way to check it is by slapping a fucking Quagsire on your team speaks volumes to how fucking retarded this dog is. Gen 8 fucking sucks.
>>
>>57191851
>counter mentions "using other Mewtwo"
Yeah, not oppressive, just required
>>
>>57190825
>In the official format
lmao
>>
>>57191052
>Admittedly I dropped after Moon
then why are you here sharing your shitty opinions, ESL?
>>
>>57191851
>He's not as good as you think it's only that the entire meta revolves around it, all teams have to be built towards countering it and the best way to deal with it is your own of it
Totally fair and balanced yeah.
>>
>>57190892
>Gengar (who ties and is weak to Psychic)
Gengar gets outsped at 110 and gets bodied by Gen 1 Mewtwo
>>
>>57191873
>>57192770
All early gen formats are like this. Gen 2 OU was even worse
>>
>>57191888
because his opinion didn't require playing after moon, dumbass
>>
I miss purple Mewtwo, not this mauve tail shit we have now.
