I always thought it would be nice if the Pokémon Company made some content geared toward its sizeable mature audience who've grown up but still appreciate it. I brought this up on Reddit and they fumed at me for some reason

They did, it was called Pokemon Generations and Pokemon Origins and both were mid as fuck.People who want Pokemon but edgy need to play actually good games like SMT and Xenoblade, Pokemon is never going to appeal to this demographic because they make more money selling Eevees to kids and womanchildren. This is unironically a good thing because GF does not have the writing chops to pull of any sort of edge past low bar shock factor before turning it into a REMEBER KANTO commercial, which is exactly what Origins and Generations were.
