Poochyena is based off both a dog and a hyena. So Mightyena is partly inspired by dogs.
Also just because something is a feliform, does not mean it acts like a cat. Looking at other feliforms like mongooses or civets, cats really look like the black sheep of the order. There is no reason to hold cats as the gold standard for what a feliform looks and acts like.
