Did Pokemon predict the cloud?I always thought it was weird how specific they were with the idea that you were storing your pokemon in "someone's" PC, then you'd meet the creator of the storage system and the game from then on would specify that you're storing them in their PC. Why was that tidbit of worldbuilding needed? It would have been simpler not to explain where your mons are going. But in the present day, if you use a cloud service you really are storing your files in "someone's PC". I thought "Bill's PC" just meant that he was the creator of the system, but it makes a lot more sense to think he has a physical server somewhere where everyone's mons are stored. Maybe the server is in his secret garden?
>>57283728>Did Pokemon predict the cloud?No
>>57283730why no
>>57283733because seeing shit stored in "someone's pc" is just how the internet works, especially around the time pokemon gen 1 was made. it's not specific to the cloud
>>57283740It's a game for children, you didn't know pages were being served from servers in 1998.You also weren't using the internet to store your own files remotely
>>57283752>It's a game for children, you didn't know pages were being served from servers in 1998.how does my knowledge of the inner workings of the internet change the fact that pokemon didn't predict the cloud?>You also weren't using the internet to store your own files remotelystoring files remotely is literally the reason why the internet was even made
