>makes a bunch of retards call you solely to inform you about a pidgey they saw>radio shuts off after every wild encounter/route change>provides you with an inferior rematch system to that of DPPt which is largely to blame for Johto's level curve issue>no fun appsTo think this mistake of a device is from the same gen that gave us the pokétch. HGSS would've been perfect had they given the pokégear a massive rehaul. What were they thinking? Were they stupid?
>>58237089Gym Leaders having their own schedule is soulful...
gear's rematches are a hard upgrade over the vs seeker. you are guaranteed a rematch if you call during a trainer's availability period. no running around like an autist for ten seconds and hoping you get a [!!]you have got.me on the radio function though. how did a ds game fuck up on something a gb game was capable of
I would kill for one IRL, it looks aesthetic
>>58237111I admired this feature considering it gave more depth to gym leaders outside of being sedentary NPCs. But having a small amount of trainers available per day is boring. Rematching the same trainers for exp grinding within a specific time window gets old fast. In Sinnoh, nearly everyone could be rematched with the vs. seeker. Why do only a few people Kanto want to rematch? It's like there's no reason to explore any other areas in that region outside of silence bridge and route 13 in the post-game. You're telling none of the people near nugget bridge want to rematch? No one in viridian forest wants to rematch? No one near Mt. Moon wants to rematch? Why? But yeah hey, at least we can battle fisherman Kyler and his harem of Magikarp which he's too stupid to evolve.TLDR It makes no sense and there was a ton of missed potential.
