Looking at the history of the franchise, and particularly the remakes, we have had:>Kanto>Johto>Hoenn, Kanto remakes>Sinnoh, Johto remakes>Unova>Kalos, Hoenn remakes>Alola, Kanto remakes>Galar, Sinnoh remakes, Sinnoh Legends>Paldea, Kalos LegendsSo, we had a pattern with the remakes up until gen 5, when everyone expected hoenn remakes. That waited til next gen probably JUST because gen 5 was at the tail end of the DS and they wanted to get gen 6 out the door ASAP, including ORAS, so I won't consider it truly breaking this pattern here. Instead, it looks like we should have gotten gen 2 and 4 remakes in gen 7 or 8, depending, alongside the gen 1 remakes we got. And we got the gen 4 remakes. And now since it's all out of sync, we're about to get a gen 6 "rep" with a legends title. This currently means the oldest region to not get a remake is gen 2. Some will say this is because of:>1the fact that it's basically kanto+, so remaking it so soon isn't truly necessary.>2it has both Johto and Kanto period, which is a lot for GF, as a smarr indie company prease undastand, to handle. Sure, whatever.>but beyond thatThe next step is gen 5, which is ALSO strange to remake, because it had bona fide sequels that change the region. Would it be the sequels remade or the originals? Or a mishmash of both? So it has a similar issue to gen 2, in a sense.>the most interesting partWe're almost certainly going to get gen 10 for the 30th anniversary, which means we'll have gen 6 "covered" and have Johto and Unova as the next main entries. So I think that during gen 10, we'll have either:>main series, Johto+Kanto remakes, Unova Legends (Grey as a possible title)or>main series, Unova remakes, Kanto+Johto LegendsBecause it hits the very beginning (with it emphasizing Kanto instead of Johto - think HGSS but backwards maybe), exact middle, and most recent steps of the series, AND hits the generally most beloved regions in the entire franchise as a bonus.What do you think?
