Can you imagine a world after a generation five. Imagine a world where a game freak stopped using one off gimmicks and instead added each game a new feature that would permanently stay or add to already existing features to make them better.
Never would have happened because the core gameplay loop is comparatively pedestrian compared to games focusing on Pokémon's demographic without the new gimmicks enrapturing child imaginations. There's also the crux issue of 3D development and its effects not magically vanishing if they didn't add gimmicks, thus reality would play out as it did anyway with Dexit, only likely sooner, to rip the band-aid off before jumping to Switch and the big boy system. Can you imagine a world where you're not the focus of the universe and are in fact an insignificant bug? Because that's the one you live in, highlighted by the fact you're just another tagnut on the arsehole of the internet.

Megas are the only good gimmick. Gigmax being the worst.
Bump for OP being 100000% right.

>>58268172They should just release really good 2D pixel games that are just remakes of old games but with the new evolutions and megas the regional variants.
>>58268345this, instead they're pointlessly bloating the games with gimmicks that will be forgotten in a few years in an attempt to capture an audience who won't play them anyway.
>>58270134>this, instead they're pointlessly bloating the games with gimmicks No, this is what OP is screeching for.
>>58268172>>58268340>>58268345>>58270134>>58270157You mean like they're doing right now with Champions?
>>58270171Champions doesn't have to worry about designing any story and gameplay progression around all the gimmicks, it's just a spin-off
>>58270324A spinoff, yes, yet it's going to be as important as mainline titles because all major competitive play will take place on it. They're having their cake and eating it too, appeasing to the autists who want a bloatware hub AND keeping the mainline games cohesive and evergreen by focusing on a nonstop rotation of additional gimmicks so each generation feels "unique and memorable" and more importantly, personalized to that generation's wave of Japanese kids who are playing Pokemon for the first time.
