Technically a few places in Paldea are based in Portugal, but it feels like Gamefreak just treated us as though we were just part of Spain even though we have a separate language, culture and Portugal is the oldest nation in Europe, it has stood for over 1140 years, we were the bulwark that faced the muslim orcs head on and drove them out of Europe in the reconquista. We are even responsible for a lot of the development and cultural trades the western world had with Japan. Several Japanese words used to this day are derived from Portuguese. I feel equally as shit for the Scots, Irishmen(?) and Welsh, technically represented in a region as well, but completely shafted. There's also the Galegos, who also have their own unique culture, language and the sort, live in Iberia and were treated as though they don't even exist.
