Post toys, plushes, tie-ins, posters and other images of stuff from the Gen 1 and 2 days. It's so interesting to look up.
>>58805265I had a few of these, Jolteon, Dragonite, Charizard.Broke open the bouncy ball part to get a lil' guy.
>>58805550They were tiny, weren't they?
>>58805598Well yeah. They were inside of a small bouncy ball. Still neat, I guess. Used them for board games like Monopoly or whatever/
>>58805250>Blastoise and Venusaur with no Charizard >the entire Poliwag line>rare merch picks like the Nidos, Venonat, Tauros, Seadra, Tangela, etc.I miss the times when random Pokémon got merch instead of strategically planned ones>>58805258I also miss late 90s, 2000s jank where localizers would just make up bullshit lore. The adults really were just trying to have fun with us
>>58805678>I miss the times when random Pokémon got merchThere was only 151 to choose from. They were still analyzing which would be the top earners or what was worthwhile. You notice Butterfree a lot, but when have you ever seen a Caterpie or Metapod?
You had to be there . . .
>>58805817You just had to
>>58805703I feel like they used to do it to some extent at the start of every gen. I remember my 2002 Kecleon compass from Wendy's.Those peruods are always really nice for giving randomons a chance
>>58805250The rev tops are the best if they are what I'm thinking about
>>58806013I remember getting the Magnemite rev top out of a cereal box
Dunno if it was just us, but any britbros remember Pokémon Tazos?
>>58806082
>>58806087

>>58806087is there a missing page before this one?>>58806082>applin>>58806087>transgender jokeahead of its time
>>58806087>soon to be forgotwell that aged poorly.
>>58806082This whole thing is just typical "slap a jap" neuroticism that consumed a lot of boomer/gen x cartoonists at the time, but the symbol on Ash's hat completely changing in every frame he's in is a legitimately great joke
Went to an antique store in bumfuck nowhere, CA back in 2019 and they had a bunch of sealed Pokemon product from this era. Sealed deck boxes of Forest, Rocket, Fossil etc. I was intrigued by the toys because they brought back a lot of memories and I even found some I owned as a kid, but I continue to kick myself for only making out with a CIB Pokemon Gold and a game and watch I never put new batteries in
>>58806059Mexico had these too, I still have my hoppip and scizor from when I went to visit
I remember KFC was one of the first, if not the first, to actually start selling Pokemon merch. I was so excited.
>>58806534Oh my god that zubat is PRECIOUS
>>58805829Are you insinuating that...Kecleon isn't cool?
>>58805703>There was only 151 to choose from153. They would also throw in Marill and Togepi in there. That is what I miss the most from the early days. They used to just market the pokemon, none of this generation shit.
>>58805678>I miss the times when random Pokémon got merchHow can you miss a time that never left?
>>58806082Pokebros... how do we recover from this...?
I've got most of these. I think I'm just missing Charmander, Psyduck and Clefairy.>>58805250I've got this poster framed and hanging in my room
>>58807639Oh damn, those are neat!
>>58807472Zoom out
I had so much pokemon stuffAll my toys in general I never threw them out but my mom did regular purges of my stuffShe basically threw away my retirement, I'm certainly not the one that got rid of that binder of first edition pokemon cards
>>58807820PAIN
SO YOU WANNA BE A MASTER OF:
>>58805829I've had the Wendy's Kecleon on my keychain for 5+ years. It's surprisingly robust.
>>58805953There should be a UN treaty to never bring back 2000s fashion.
>>58808052Y2K has been the "in" style for the past 3+ years.
For me it was the Base - Gym cards. Before they added any of the Johto Pokémon. I was one of the few kids that actually knew how to play the card game and wasn't just collecting them.
>>58806983why do you niggas type random shit then say another person said it?
Bump
