What is the best way to experience Pokemon in 2026? What is the best way to experience multiplayer Pokemon in 2026?As a kid, I just watched the anime whenever I saw it on TV, played FR on my GBA, and traded card with my friends (without knowing how to actually the game of course).I kind of want to get back into the series, but it seems a lot bigger and over whelming, and I wouldn't have an idea of where to begin or what's good and what's shit.So /vp/, in your opinion what are:>best way to get back into pokemon tcg>best way to get back into pokemon games>best way to get back into pokemon anime>which pokemon anime series are worth watching vs which should be skipped>best way to get back into multiplayer pokemon (this is where I have the most interest)

>>58808768Just search up the latest games lmao
>>58808768>best way to get back into pokemon tcgthe Pokémon TCG Pocket app. The app constructs decks for you and makes it super easy to learn how to play. You'll learn what decks you like then you can transfer that into paper product if you wish. Scalpers are making it a chore to find physical products in stores so it'll be better to go into the physical TCG knowing what you want. Also, look up local tabletop game stores and give them a call. If they don't host their own get togethers for Pokémon TCG players, they'll know who does.If you don't plan on playing and just collecting than either stick to just the online games (Pocket App, Pokémon TCG Online) or buy singles from trading card game websites. You could also do irl trades but that requires opening boosters which again isn't easy nowadays.>best way to get back into multiplayer pokemon (this is where I have the most interest)see how you feel about the Pokémon Showdown website. If it isn't for you then I would recommend waiting until later this year as the current generation is ending and the next gen games are coming out this year and probably being announced sometime between now and March. They'll be for Nintendo Switch 2 so make sure your console is updated. They're also making an official game specifically for competitive Pokémon that'll hopefully come out this year called Pokémon Champions but I don't think we entirely know how it works yet and it's likely Game Freak will fuck it up somehow
Try looking for a ROM hack that isn't compshit.
>>best way to get back into pokemon gamesRelease order, or else it'll feel clunky going back to earlier games

>>58808768>best way to get back into pokemon tcgYou can use TCG Pocket as a stepping stone to get in to the actual TCG the basics of it are mostly the same once you think you're ready for the real deal you can try TCG Live both give you easy to use cookie cutter decks so don't feel like you gotta buy shit to stay relevant of course if you do decide on that, you can buy bulk code cards for like 10-25 cents each online. Alternatively play the GBC games if you want no pressure gameplay but keep in mind that all of those cards aren't legal anymore except so just use it as a way to get familiar with how the real tcg works in terms of the mechanics because its the only thing that hasn't changed at all>gamesif you have a 3ds you can play pretty much 7 generations of pokemon on it with no issues provided you can get cfw running on it just keep in mind the last set of 3ds games (sun and moon/ultra sun and moon) are essentially 3d visual novels with the amount of cutscenes and railroading that happens if that sounds like its not your thing feel free to skip them and don't let any waifufag tell you otherwise it's seriously not worth the playthrough if you hate those kinds of things>animelol lmao even>multiplayeryou have 2 paths (or 3) on this the 1st being to buy the current mainline entries as they come along right now we're in Legends ZA or Scarlet and Violet if you want to play with actual people, Showdown which is a battle sim for unemployed people but its a good way to try out battling with mons without having the newer games id say go this route first to try out new mechanics as well, or the secret 3rd option which i almost dont want to bring up is if you have a 3ds then wait for the pretendo team to add online back to XY/ORAS/SM/USUM. It's currently Testers only but the Testers server is fucking dead in activity but when it hits open access it will somewhat recreate what playing those games online were like prior to the shutdown
