Would a "Pokémon Exterminator" job be a real paid job in the Pokémon world?
Would you enjoy doing this?

No. Pokémon are not animals.

All species of Pokémon have human-level cognition at minimum. Wild Pokémon are split into to two groups, those seeking humans to be their Trainer and those are not thus usually instead keeping away. Most Wild Pokémon know not to bother humans like that in a human settlement, that puts them at risk of being forced to fight Trained Pokémon, so a Wild Pokémon doing that would be a bigger deal. Something similar might exist as a job to get these Pokémon to leave or at least calm down, but not "exterminate" them.

Wow all these strange and different creatures all just happen to be about as smart as humans!
This premise does not make sense to me, humans evolved in a very specific way to garner such a high intelligence, what evolutionary pressures did Rhyhorns face to become about as smart as humans? Disregarding the Pokédex clearly stating that certain Pokemon are as dumb as bricks, because those entries tend to not be accurate to reality, it is highly improbable that they are all at least as smart as humans. Even in PMD, where the Pokémon act much more human like, most characters act like they are mentally impaired. Some Pokemon are clever, others not so much.

Gods. Gods made pokemon as smart as humans. This is confirmed, factual, canon, divine intervention.

So Allah made Pokémon and they stayed exactly the same for millions of years? Or is the Pokemon world only like 6000 years old?
Regardless, Humans in the Pokemon world are capable of creating very impressive technology, technology that eclipses many real world counterparts. Has a single species of Pokemon ever been able to come close to creating something with the same level of sophistication as a human creation? Plenty of Pokemon have arms and hands, they should be capable of doing so if they are as smart as humans. Yet not a single Pokemon can, they seemingly have invented almost nothing, every invention is human made. Even real humans on tiny pacific islands have invented SOME things. What are Pokemon using their human like intelligence for? What is Rhyhorn doing in his day to day life that he needs to be able to think like a human for? I do not see much evidence supporting this claim.

The plural of the word Pokémon and any Pokémon species do not change.

All species of Pokémon in the main games and main anime have human-level cognition at minimum.

For the main games. There's Dr. Footstep and N who can translate what the player's Pokémon say. Some Moves require cognition more complex than that of real-life animal cognition. In SV, when teaching your Pokémon a Move you can directly ask them if they want it or not and if they do then what existing Move to forget.

For the main anime. There's Team Rocket's Meowth, who learned how to speak in human manner overtime just by practice, he can translate what Pokémon are saying to human language. It's shown that all Pokémon can understand humans, even right after hatching from their Egg, even as an Egg they're somewhat aware.

Basically this. And all of them in the Pokémon world are Pokémon.

Oh here we go…
>Some Moves require cognition more complex than that of real-life animal cognition
My claim was not “Pokémon have around the same level of cognition as real world animals.” it is “Pokemon are significantly dumber than humans.” Pokemon are very much smarter than most real world animals, I was not claiming this.
Being able to comprehend speech and even speak themselves is not enough to claim they are on par with human intelligence. A three year old can comprehend speech, but they are still much much dumber than humans. Given all of what humans in the Pokémon world are capable of, and that Pokemon have not replicated these feats, it suggests that humans are some of the smartest creatures in the Pokemon world, and claiming Pokemon to be our mental equals is an insult to our greatness.

I meant to say three year olds are dumber than adults not humans, they are humans.

Fair enough. Me personally I've gotten used to it and like it now.

It appears you don't know what that means.

I'm only arguing for Pokémon at minimum human-level cognition, not necessarily intelligence, as the latter can vary and be increased. But Pokémon do have they capacity to be able to increase their intelligence. But here's the thing. Humans are the only ones with human-cognition that we know of in real-life. We don't really know fully what a different species with that same cognition would be like compared to us, let alone higher cognition, and cognition would be only one factor although a major one. I don't think it's fair say a different species with human-level cognition would nearly always create a society so similar to humans. Some Pokémon are smarter than humans. It's safe to say that Pokémon just don't overall generally value the same things as humans do. It seems Pokémon have more simplistic values. Furthermore, Pokémon have humans that have already made buildings and society and stuff, so it's not exactly surprising that Pokémon aren't exactly rushing to do that stuff yet have in PMD where there aren't humans. Pokémon have humans who can take care of them and do things for them, in exchange for them doing the same to the humans, it's an asymmetric yet equally mutual relationship. Your claim of Pokémon being mentally equal to humans is insulting to humans, yet humans are still unique and impressive in the Pokémon world, there's even things about the humans of the Pokémon world that do not apply to real-life humans.

>I don't think it's fair say a different species with human-level cognition would nearly always create a society so similar to humans.
They wouldn’t create a nearly identical society with or without human like intelligence.
I am just asking for evidence that they do have human like intelligence, which I have yet to see good examples of. Being able to comprehend speech is the only intellectual feat I have seen brought forward. If you want me to believe that the magical creatures in your setting are as smart as humans, then I need to be shown those creatures behaving like they do on multiple occasions. I am not convinced the majority of Pokémon are smarter than a 6 year old. The humans in the Pokémon world certainly do not act like Pokemon are smart. In the anime, Pokemon are consistently shown eating kibble on the floor like a house pet. Why are the humans treating them the same way we treat dogs and cats if they are on our cognitive level? It’s not like they are just super duper racist towards Pokémon, humans are consistently shown to think very highly of Pokemon, yet they are still treated like more pets not people.
>PMD
It is much easier to argue that the Pokemon in PMD are of human like intelligence, but the Pokemon in that setting are very different from the ones in the mainline setting.
Also, I still think the Pokémon in that setting are dumber than humans. Maybe it is just me, but the player character, who is a human, always seemed smarter and more aware than the NPCs in those games. I think that is to show that humans are smarter than Pokemon.
But this thread poses a question for humans in the mainline world, not the PMD one, so it is whatever.

Pokemon EXTRACTOR, yes.

Yes it does
Why people exterminant. They are grossed out by pokemon. An evidence of this is Misty being grosne d out by Caterie in the anime Seaosn 1. People will ondoubtedly extermiab e all pokemon they are grossed out by or who theyrie patients are grossed out by. This is a human world where humans have all the money. If they are rich they will take their clients wishes in consideration before they are evern cognizant of a problem and lay out poisons for pokemon. Millions will perish. I wojld not take pleazire in this because I don't like it irl neother.
