why won't this motherfucker die or at least slow down the killing spree it's like a fucking road roller
>>58810882The EFFORT to make this thing cool
>>58810882Baldscalibur lol
>>58810928... is none, because it's already cool as hell
>>58810882I forgot this thing even got a Mega Evolution, jesus christ ZA is just so damn forgettable
>cool typing of "opposites" that previously only one single third legendary had>based on a real dinosaur found in the country in which its region was based>but the biological traits of that dinosaur are used as inspiration to turn it into a walking nuclear plant>the nuclear factor doubles as a Mecha Gozilla reference since it also looks like a bipedal mechanical dino>to make it more obvious so nobody can deny the reference, its signature move references Gozilla too>the blade-like back fin is complemented by icy spikes on its front upon mega evolving, so it looks like an impaled beast using the weapon that tried to kill it to destroy its enemies>also strong as fuck obviously, basically Mega KyuremImagine not loving this guy
>>58810980That's because it's an ice-type.
>>58811429Because it's still ugly.
>>58812731Turn your screen on
>>58811429The weird red things on its hands will never not look awkward and out of place. If they're blades or spikes they need to be sturdier. If they're feathers or decoration they need to be more elaborate. 3 red lines just look like lazy shit.
kys musk
>>58812878I thought you guys appreciated simplicity?
>>58812731Based
>>58813214Simplicity would have been either:Removing the spikes altogether. The design stands on its own without them.Enhance the spikes and change their color. Integrate them to the core of the design rather than being an afterthought. If a pop of color is truly desired or needed, have the spikes be red stripes on the skin, or red tinges to the fingers/claws. This doesnt clutter the design unduly, but still draws the eye. Basically, there are several ways to refine and clean up the design, but they chose none of them. Instead what we got were eye catching spikes, but it draws attention to a body part which is too spindly, frail and barely attached to the model as a whole. It was a poor design choice to lead the viewer to the least thought out aspect of the design. The head is cool. The spike sword blade is cool. There's a lot to like about him. I just hate how the spotlight is put on the worst element of this Pokémon.
>>58813231>Removing the spikes altogetherLook up concavenator you pleb
>>58811429Man if you need to write a long ass list of reasons to like something it just sounds you're deluding yourself
>>58810882>>58810980>>58811429Awesome artAlso yeah Bax was already my favorite Paldeamon and one of my top Pseudo-Legendaries, and the Mega made it one of my all-time favorites. The concept is phenomenal since I'm a big fan of Godzilla/kaijus and the design is right up my alley, reminds me of classic Pokemon.
They should have done the quill like feathers from Concavenator to the side on Baxcalibur, that was how the real animal looked and it would be far better if Bax had the stupid things to the side as well. I'll also say, the Mega fixed the biggest issue with Baxcalibur for me, which was the dogshit posture, I don't care about le hecking references, it looks bad normally, the more hunched and aggressive stance the Mega brings to the table is far better and makes Baxcalibur look more finished and imposing.
>>58813529The weight of the Mega's blade is better felt because of the transition to a hunch so I like that difference between them. I also like that they didn't specifically nerf the speed as a consequence. Anyway I don't have a problem with Bax or Mega Bax. If anything, Frigibax is the one I would nitpick because of the asymmetry of the feature on its chin. Compared to that, the rest of the line is pristine.
>>58813430>if you can put your thoughts into words you are deluding yourselfUnovabro...
>>58813558I think Frigibax problem isn't the asymmetry but rather that it's ugly as sin, but I do find it endearing as a Godzilla Jr. reference. I would still prefer it if it was based on one of the non-ugly designs tho
We all agree it's getting thermal exchange, right?
>>58814180if it gets thermal exchange it's a downgrade from the regular form, so i hope not.
>>58814908>if it keeps an ability that raises its attack upon being hit by fire (basically guarantees they won't use fire on you unless 100% sure they will KO you) and makes it immune to the burn status chipping away its health and lowering its attack then it's a downgradeHow?
>>58815439>can't hold an item>doesn't gain any speed>only gains 30 attack, doesn't make up for no item on offensive sets like loaded dice scale shot>gains some meager bulk, doesn't make up for no item on bulky setup sets like ice body DD>30 points wasted in useless spatk>even if you can come up with a niche where it's marginally better than base bax, it takes your mega slot when you could be using an actually good mega alongside bax insteadit needs a broken ability to not be objectively worse than the base form
>>58815477What kind of ability do you suggest, then? Hard mode, no new abilities, they are surely not making new ones for Champions
>>58812731Compared to that Kanto shitmon? Hardly.
>>58816447technician, skill link, slush rush.
>>58816846>slush rushI'm literally just learning about this ability damn gen 9 really added a lot of busted abilities and moves
>>58810882those stupid dumb little red fagflagettes it has are retarded and look gay
>>58811429>Mecharetarded secondary
>>58817197>slush rush>gen 9
>>58817204wait isn't it?? I thought it was something they added for the landwhale?
>>58817202While Godzilla is already nuclear themed Baxcalibur doesn't embody that in the same way, it's not any sort of radiactive or a ghost type fuelled by the spirits of nuked japs, it's purposely designed around being a nuclear PLANT, and has fucking metalic parts so of course part of the inspiration is mecha godzilla, not just the mainstream one
>>58817202>someone who uses "gozilla", a proper adaptation of the japanese name ゴジラ (think about how Zygarde is spelled ジガルデ) instead godzilla or the mere, effortless transliteration "gojira">casualYou are only exposing how much of a casual you are mate
>>58817302The fact that japanese uses "ji" for the z sound should clue you in to how retarded you are but I don't think you understand the first thing about transliteration or linguistics so just shut your trap and stop talking
>>58810980...that art is still off model
TyraniCHAD did the Kaiju thing way better. BaxcaliCHUD is a pale and uglier imitation.
>>58810882>why won't this motherfucker dieI mean he looks like a monster who survived getting stabbed in the chest. They gave him the stats to match...
>>58817372>the fact you are correct in that he used a proper adaptation of ゴジラ means you are retardedStop projecting.
>>58817860No, it's not, you are either blind or a retard. Which one it is?
>>58811429I like pokemon if they look good, I don't need a copium list to justify a design
>>58810980Insane how mega bax fixed my issues with normal without ruining anything

>>58817270Cubchoo line, A-Sandslash, the gen 8 ice fossils
>>58818727>I like pokemon if they look goodWe know, that's why you are in a CHADcalibur thread.
>>58818657>a proper adaptationyou're an idiot. You're beyond an idiot, you're a confident idiot. There is no "zi" in japanese, they mimic it with "ji". That's why Zygarde features it. Godzilla was named after the original japanese "Gojira", a combination of two words, you know the story. It was adapted into english intentionally splitting the "j" into a d+z to represent the fact that "j" is comprised of the sound /d͡ʒ/, which is the dental stop (/d/) combined with the voiced post-alveolar fricative (/ʒ/) which, while present in english in certain words (like the g in "mirage") is typically represented with a "ž" or "zh" as it's the voiced equivalent of the unvoiced post-alveolar fricative, which we normally write as "sh" or, for certain linguistic contexts, like when discussing other languages, as "š". Ergo, transliterating gojira as "godzilla" is only a step removed from the original pronunciation; however, entirely demoting the "d" from the equation is working backwards from a very narrow understanding of the transliteration process, specifically targeting an isolated example of it being done that way (like with zygarde) and believing, incorrectly, that it can ALWAYS be done that way, when it's not true. It was adapted as a "z" sound for that specific instance not because the "j" was exactly it in japanese, but because there's not a closer equivalent in japanese, and working backwards from that assumption is objectively just wrong, and stupid. Now, kill yourself.
>>58818874>There is no "zi" in japanese, they mimic it with "ji"Which is why once you use western characters you use z, because the j is just how the supply the lack of zi sound. You may as well say ポケットモンスター isn't Pocket Monster because in japanese words only end in vowels or nDidn't read the rest of your schizo attack
>>58819173Well you completely missed my point.>you CAN use ji as "zi" in specific circumstances because japanese doesn't have one, but only if that was intended by the author.>you CAN'T substitute it randomly because that entirely disregards how their language works and how transliteration works at a fundamental levelIs that dumbed-down enough for you? Dumbass.
>>58810882>Make new megas broken so you need to buy new game to use them on next year tournament>Make DLC megas even more broken so you have to pay extra for the DLC to use them on next year tournament>Make DLC online-only megas mostest brokenerest so you…
>>58819203>tournamentAnon the megas you get in Z-A have no effect in Champions, which is the new official format, because the stones can't be send from Z-A to anywhere else (not even to other Z-A files) and all the pokemon in the game, either base or DLC, already appear in other entries. The way Mega Zeraora, Mega Baxcalibur or Mega Garchomp Z are implemented in Z-A has no effect on the official world tournament.
>>58819186>it's officially translated into dz despite being incorrect because some retards like me don't know how to pronounce things, therefore everyone should use itKeep telling yourself that, braindeadanon. Keep that ジ as dzi if it makes you happy.
>>58819302>>it's officially translated into dzyou don't even know the difference between transliteration and translation. Go look up the International Phonetic Alphabet on goddamn WIKIPEDIA as your required reading for today. Shouldn't take you more than a few minutes to understand how it works as long as your brainrot hasn't caused too much damage yet.
>>58819531Oh, the irony. If (You) knew the difference you would know the transliteration of ゴジラ is gojira, not godzilla or anything like that since a transliteration converts the japanese characters directly into the english equivalent.>ポケットモンスター = pokettomonsutaa (transliteration)>ポケットモンスター = pocket monster (translation)Now stop posting and off yourself, retard. Or keep posting, I'm not falling for your unintentional shitposting any longer anyway
>>58819698>you would know the transliteration of ゴジラ is gojira>>58818874>Godzilla was named after the original japanese "Gojira", a combination of two words, you know the story.
>>58817864>im-FUCKING-plyingBoth are great. You know who the real failure of a kaiju is, and it came out in gen 8.
>>58819781I honestly keep forgetting Duraludon even exists and I think I'm happier at those times
>>58819221Since the beginning of the times every Pokémon is tagged based on which region/game you captured it.HOME even uses it to regional dex completion, since a Pikachu you captured in SV will only count towards the Paldea dex completion.I’ll be surprised if Champions doesn’t do the same when handling new mega stones
>>58820068You literally don't even have to send pokemon from the real games into Champions, getting the mega stones won't have anything to do with catching the pokemon in ZAAnd in most cases you don't even need DLC anyway since you can just trade, even without purchasing the DLC every game has programmed all mons
>>58817864godzilla ultima doesn't get enough respect
>>58820099>>58820099Yes, you don’t HAVE to, but you can if you don’t want to pay for them.Which is what I’m saying.>You want the Golisopod stone? Sure, just transfer one from ZA. Oh, you don’t have one? Don’t mind it, you can buy one. Don’t worry, it won’t cost real money, just in-game 10,000 credits. How do tou get credits? Oh, you can accumulate 10 credits every day doing these boring chores. Or you can buy them with real money. THE CREDITS, NOT THE STONE! We would never charge you real money for the stone :D>even without purchasing the DLC every game has programmed all monsZA doesn’t have breeding, though. So transferring one specimen from a different farm won’t give you a native one unless someone with the DLC gives it to you.The same reason why every new evolution in SV’s DLC requires exclusive methods only found in the DLC: sure, you can find someone to give the Pokémon to you, but you can’t get your own without the DLC
>>58820149They already confirmed there's no currency you buy with real money. And if you get a Baxcalibur someone got in Mega Dimension for your base Z-A game that still counts for your dex in Home, the OT never mattered. And The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero's three new evos just require three new items which can be traded.Fucking dumbass
>>58818874Well they also did it so his name looks like "God Lizard".
>>58820189yeah I was trying to point out that they intentionally messed with the transliteration but it's still not that far off from the root compared to just changing the j to a z
