ITT: Pokémon with cool coverage Slowbro gets Flamethrower
Ugly KANTOOOOO shitmon
>loses HP ice in gen 8>gets fucking scald of all things to make up for it
>Can learn Hydro Pump and Thunder with STAB HurricaneI'll be surprised if Rain Teams don't use it
Flying and Surfing Pikachu is really cool to me. I especially like how Horizons showed that Pikachu can actually fly without balloons, it's just very difficult to train and super rare to see pulled offhttps://youtu.be/lSnoGLyf36Q?si=_mCveoifybMlOXKC
>>58819354kill yourself. Actually fucking kill yourself. Disliking Slowbro is subhuman
Delcatty learns Wake-Up Slap and Feint Attack through leveling up as SkittyThis means she can easily cover Rock Steel and DarkShe can also learn Play Rough through leveling up as Skitty, which can be used against fighting types. So Delcatty can have answer to all her bad match ups without the use of a single TM.
>>58819450>did you just disgrace my heckin' KANTO?!?!?!?! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Dragalge can learn Thunderbolt
heat wave
Cinccino learns Thunder, thunderbolt and thunder wave.I assume because he has all that fur that causes static.
>>58819483He really can just learn a ton of shit
>>58819514>he>50% female
>>58819523Mines a boy and that’s all that matters
>>58819343He got got Outrage, Blaze Kick, Knock Off, and Struggle Bug of all things this gen. Best regional bird whose coverage is only surpassed by Toucannon maybe
I thought being able to breed Hydro Pump onto it through Gyarados was the coolest thing ever as a kid. Even had its use in comp, nuking Heatran with a Specs Hydro was just too satisfying.
>>58819488And Icy Wind, and Chilling Water, and Will-o-Wisp. What the fuck
>>58819584I love the mega's design but I'm really curious about its ability>G-Zapdos learns most of its moves while not eating your Mega slot >M-Hawlucha is faster and has Swords DanceAt the moment its in a really awkward spot
Scald Emboar
>>58819488>>58819653given the tengu inspiration all the wind moves and will o wisp make sense. idk about chilling water but whatever, it's a tree
>>58819455Delcatty doesnt have an answer for her garbage stats
>>58819584Didn’t even notice the second got lol>>58819667Mega Hawlucha funnily enough is probably my other favorite Mega (at least of this batch) but I do hope Raptor has something that will set it apart from it, Gapdos, and even itself non Mega.
>>58819625Hydro Pump Salamence has always been a favorite of mine. It's so cool.
>gets giga drain
Ice Punch
>>58819343I like it can learn fly.It allow me to not use a flying type when I played BW for the first time.
>>58819455> This means she can easily cover Rock Steel and Dark>She can also learn Play Rough through leveling up as Skitty, which can be used against fighting types. All this cover doesn't matter when she has Normalize.
All those early game normal types that can learn damn near every special TMs and don't have the stats to use them.
>>58819790Goodra learns a lot of moves too like a gen 1 normal type except it has actual special attack
>
>>58819782You are not supposed to use Normalize
>>58819815It's not usual for Pokemon to get a GEN1-tier movepool
>>58819819>delcattyschizo doesn't even know how to use delcattyfigured as much
>>58819778>Golem pokemon that flies with spiritual energyMost badass pokemon concept in the franchise full stop
>>58819815>>58819840How much cooler is it for it tho? They should do this more, came here to post this fucker
>>58819343Basically all butterfly/moth Pokémon learn Psychic moves by level-up for some reason.
>>58819343Scolipede could learn Aqua tail in some of the gen 6 games, which always took my opponent by surprise
*Shock Wave your Pelipper*
>>58819896All butterflies and moth pokemon?
>>58820022I’m more surprised it learned Ice moves
This is more new but Gourgeist apparently gets Silver Wind via TM and I'm left wondering how. Not to mention some of the other moves it has learned over the years like Flamethrower, Sludge Bomb, Charge Beam (back in Gens VI and VII anyways) and Moonblast
>mechanical-looking pokemon like Magnemite, Magearna, and Klinklang can't learn Overheat, a move that logically makes sense for them to have>but a FUCKING ZEBRA can
>>58820282Magnemite and Magearna are perfect being who run so efficiently they couldn't even overheat if they tried. That shitbox Klingklang not learning Overheat makes no sense, though
>>58819367I’m still confused by that. Like why give him that move? What’s the flavor reason. He still has it too after it’s distribution got culled in Gen 9.
>Gets Flamethrower >>58820298I'm guessing it was given a water move due to its association with storrms? Still quite odd that Scald is what it got. >>58820135>Flamethrowerit being able to use fire moves was always a fun detail. Pokemon Go recently gave it Incinerate and its the only non-fire type to get it. >Sludge Bomb, Charge Beam (back in Gens VI and VII anyways) and Moonblastthe first two are pretty standard for ghosts and Moonblast is fairly common for Pokemon associated with the night. Thoughts its ironic how many fairies don't even get it.
Talking about Moonblast, Muk and his Alola form can learn it by level up but only in Let's Go
Here's one that really makes no sense: this thing learns Flamethrower and Fire Blast. In fact, it's been able to learn Fire Blast since Gen 1.
>>58820320>it being able to use fire moves was always a fun detail. Pokemon Go recently gave it Incinerate and its the only non-fire type to get it.Likely because it's based on a jack-o-lantern which is lit up with candles and fire
>Water gun Phanphy in gen II
>>58819488>>58819625>>58819769>>58819771>>58819778>>58819905>>58820320>>58820364>>58820476kino
>>58820364Back in Gen 1 they just kinda threw out moves to learn via TM randomly, stats and typing be damned. It's how you get stuff like Surf Rhydon and Teleport Arcanine.
>>58820512And yet they doubled down and gave it Flamethrower in Gen 2.
Wailord getting Self-Destruct peak dark humor. It's a reference to how beached whale corpses explode
>>58819343Hydreigon is the only pseudo that can learn Belch
>>58820512Nah, Rhydon is a KaijuAll Kaiju mon learn surf, probably because Godzilla.
>>58820598>All Kaiju mon learn surfThey also learn Thunder, Blizzard, Fire Blast, AND Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Flamethrower. Kaijumon coverage is scary.
Always thought it was cool that Seismitoad could learn Grass Knot and (later) Power Whip. I see that Quagsire has been given Trailblaze now, but back in the day none of the other Water/Grounds had access to a Grass Attack. I often relied the Water/Ground mons for their Water immunity on my mono Ground-type teams, but Quagsire and Gastrodon could never really pose much of a threat in return.
Energy Ball
>>58820476Ice Shard is weirder
>>58820476it's an elephant
>>58819438Pikachu shouldn't be able to fly at all.
>>58819343Persian getting access to multiple water and electric type moves across generations for some reason.
>>58821579but they can and mine does
Raticate gets Flame Wheel for some reason. I think that's really neat.
I love this elemental force of nature like you can’t believe.
>>58820298association with a water mon and a fire mon, scald is the best of both worldsidk just my schizo headcanon
>>58819769Best on ho-oh
>Leech Life>Power Whip>Fighting moves>Burning Jealousy>Elemental PunchesShame he's used solely for shitting out Screens
Some of theese are pretty cool, like Zap Cannon Squirtle and Ababor Phanphyhttps://m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_PCNY_event_Pok%C3%A9mon_distributions_in_Generation_II
shoutout poison sting sandshrewno fucking clue why it gets that moveare armadillos poisonous?
>>58821729>Ababor
>>58821730It also learns Leech Life for some reason
>>58821730Shrews specifically are (I know it's the EN name but still) & Pangolins by nature are kinda like bats in their natural immunities to a wide variety of diseases but can still be spread despite being unaffected themselves
>Learns fucking Aqua CutterAt this point they should give him every slicing move that exists
>>58821830>Population Bomb Gallade
>learns a shitload of fire and electric moves>also gets Outrage
OP here What would you guys rather see: overpowered signature moves on new mons, or better/insane coverage on new mons?
>>58821708They still need to give our little buddy Shadow Bone. It's no fair the Alolan version gets all of the Kanto version's Bone moves
>>58820059Learn to read.
>>58822123>Alolan version gets all of the Kanto version's Bone movesBecause they both evolve from Cubone. If there was an Alolan Cubone it would be a different story
>>58821838how is that a slice move anyway? are the little mice slicing you with their claws?
>>58822233From bulbapedo>The Japanese name for the move can be read as both ねずみ算 nezumizan (to multiply like mice; literally "mouse mathematics", a common arithmetic problem) and ねずみ斬 nezumizan (mouse cut), explaining why the move is strengthened by Sharpness. It was just the devs making a pun
