Just got one and want to play pokemon. I saw the Diamond remake and thought about that but it doesn’t seem to be popular lol
>>58827386SV is pretty great, especially the DLC, and it's the only game with substantial Switch 2 improvements Otherwise go for a Legends game. They have their differences, but you should pick whichever region you have the most fondness for. If you like Kalos or Sinnoh more, go with that game.
New Snap is fun, SV is actually functional on Switch 2, and legends arceus is a tech demo and still one of the better pokemon games in a hot minute.Tbh you're better off emulating older games when it comes to pokemon though. Fell off a cliff starting with the 3ds and haven't recovered since.
>>58827386If you want to buy a Pokemon game for Switch 2, either buy Legends ZA's Switch 2 editon or Scarlet & Violet. Both are optimized for S2.Beyond those, Legends Arceus is seen as the best Pokemon game on the Switch to everyone except a specific shitposter. If you see someone seething about "plass" "trans genies" or "goodra in a diaper" that's the shitposter. After that is Sword and Shield. This is where the games start getting bad, but at least with SwSh it plays the most like an actual Pokemon game. Some of the bigger problems were behind the scenes such as Dexit, but if you can get past that it's just a mediocre game all around. Least some of the new Pokemon look great.Let's Go is painfully mediocre. It's just Kanto with Go mechanics and an overpowered starter, moreso if you pick Eevee. I will give it credit for being the best looking Pokemon game on the switch.BDSP outright doesn't work on Switch 2. Even if it did, it's a terrible remake of the originals, flat out ignoring Platinum whenever it can, adds forced affection mechanics, and brings back some glitches from the original games. As for the spinoffs, look for Rescue Team DX or New Pokemon Snap. Or wait for Pokopia, though keep in mind that's a Game Key Card.
>>58827397>>58827399>>58827454How much different is Scarlet now? When I played a buddy’s copy I had a decent time but had a crash at that big ancient Donphan that left a bad impression. Thinking about either of the Legends game. Assuming ZA is more optimal since it’s the current game
>>58827490>How much different is Scarlet now? There was a lake that lagged like all hell on Switch 1 where you had to fight a Dondozo and Tatsugiri as part of the plot. The same lake is now completely lag free on Switch 2. Also more Pokemon spawn so Shiny Hunting is easier.>Assuming ZA is more optimal since it’s the current gameIt does have PVP which gets it points in longevity compared to Arceus, but as a game it is very grindy, made worse with the DLC. (Or so I've heard, don't have the DLC and currently don't have any plans on getting it.) Also while I didn't mind the shift to Real Time Battles, some people might not like that.
>>58827490ZA is worth playing if you also played XY, but it makes an effort to stand on its own. It's recency only helps in terms of event/distribution stuff, since some mega stones are rewards for online play and the season rotation helps keep things fresh. SV just started its end-of-life raid rotation, so you'll have new events to do there too as they cycle through every starter evolution. Crashing was never a major issue for SV, at least not after the first patch. In 600+ hours I think SV crashed twice on me, while ZA crashed once over 300+ hours. SV has a lot more to do, especially with the DLC. If you had to pick one game to keep you fed until Gen 10, I'd say go with SV+DLC.
>>58827516>>58827533Just saw clips of bosses for both and I think I’m going to go with ZA. SV looks serviceable but running around with the Megas looks more interesting to me. I also like the character customization there much more. Don’t think I’ll be getting the DLC though. Thanks for your advice guys.
>>58827386Anything but SwSh, SV, BDSP and ZA
>>58827590Enjoy ZA! Fwiw SV titan battles are just a handful of events to unlock more travel tools, but in ZA it's the main hook of the game.
>>58827386New Snap, Pokkén DX, LGPE, BDSP, PLA, ZA, or Pokémon games on NSO's Nintendo Classics.
