Would you buy fake pokemon games?
I try not to. The carts normally have weird hiccups that can catch you unawares and while they may be able to trade to legit copies, normally they can’t properly transfer pokemon to newer games. You’re better off downloading on the 3DS.
>>58932068when i was first collecting the games i missed out on i avoided them like the plague.Nowadays though I find them kind of interesting, official cartridges will only last so long and the idea of a high quality, long lifespan unofficial cartridge with the same functionality as the official ones sounds appealing. The problem is I have no clue where to find places that make them, most of its cheap temu shit.
>>58932068how hard is it to print a correct label?
>>58932068Only from a Flea Market.
>>58932068i did, already had real carts anyway
>>58932068I got a repro back in 2008. No red cart, just outright being honest about being a repro. I tried migrating my Pokemon to my legit Pearl copy and it just nuked my FR save file and I had well like 300 hours clocked into it with an almost full dex (as possible without trades)I eventually got a legit copy but since then I see no point on repros. I'd just emulate
Does it hurt Nintendo and/or GameFreak? If yes then I absolutely would buy one
No, they suck and most of the time you can't even save well
>>58932068Isn't it literally illegal for them to sell it?
I bought a repro Emerald, knowing full well it was a fake. I flashed the Toysrus shiny Zigzagoon giveaway to it, that one is yet another patch to fix the gen 3 berry glitch. However my real objective was the liechi berry Zig was holding, finally giving me that elusive berry I've tried years for.
>>58932068Is this an American thing, I've never seen a fake game
I bought one by mistake in 2006 from an amazon seller. I didnt notice the cart color difference until I was at the Mew distribution at Toys R Us where my firered was the color of someone else's Ruby. After getting the Mew and going home, the save data corrupted and i lost everything
>>58932705>Does it hurt Nintendo and/or GameFreak? Not in the slightest, no, they just like to pretend it does
I think I've had my dad bought three to five copies of Emerald from GameStop due to me being a stupid kid who kept losing shit. One of them was definitely a fake, or at least the shell, being a black cartridge. Another I didn't realize until later didn't have a transparent shell.
>>58932068back in like 2013 i bought a fake emerald and half way through the game it corrupted and lost the savenowadays you can just buy a flashcart, there's not much point in repros
I own a repro copy of LeafGreen ( pic rel ). It's similar enough to the original, but its main issue is that when my SP dies in the middle of saving, it will wipe out my save data. It also displays the message "The save file will be loaded" whenever I continue my game. And from what I've read, it's because repro makers cheap out on making them and use smaller-sized SRAMs to store save files instead of flash memories. The ROM is then modified to bypass this limitation.I still recommend it if you're fine with the idea of owning reproduction cartridges since, to me, they are cheap. Meanwhile, they are useful if you're doing a Living Dex on a legitimate cartridge since they should have the capacity to be able to trade with them.
>>58932830no one rly cares, go try to buy a Gen 3 game on ebay and see how many fakes are swarming the site
>>58932928flash carts don't have soul, repros feel better, but it does suck that i can't buy one without feeling like i'm purchasing a ticking time bomb that might brick at any moment
