Why is the battle zone tropical? Shouldn't it have been snowy instead?
It's situated on an island with an active volcano. And I'm not entirely sure if I'd call the Battle Zone "tropical". More like "volcanic". The terrain is rough except for certain civilized areas.
>>58932338stop replying to retards
>>58932338It's literally covered in palm trees. No, "being volcanic" isn't an excuse, otherwise places like Iceland and countless volcanic areas in IRL Russia would be able to sustain a similar biosphere. You also cross through an entire sea of ice floes to reach it.Just accept that it's nonsense video game logic.
>>58932346No. I will reply to any retard I so choose. Like right now.
>>58932331maybe but it's hard to care since it's an island tucked away in the postgame and feels detached from Sinnoh's climate for that reason
>>58932331I don't think the trees are natural to the island.
Isn't it based on a real island contended between Japan and Russian?
>>58933470The real island has a sub-arctic climate.
>>58933478well to be fair that was Platinum's change, DP has the classic pine trees and more cold look
>>58932368GOTEM
>>58932338>It's situated on an island with an active volcano.
Sinnoh is snowy because of altitude not latitude.
>>58932331It's not realistic at all but I'm fairly certain that Stark Mountain heats up the entire island in the lore. It isn't accurate to real life but I guess if you use pokemon logic it kinda makes sense. Otherwise >>58933509 is correct, and maybe the palm trees are just for show.>>58933682you literally have to drill through ice on the sea in order to get there, at least in Plat. This is BS.
>>58933682>Sinnoh is snowy because of altitudeyou mean sea level altitude?
>>58932331PokeEarth's climate is all kinds of fucked up and incredibly localised
>>58932331because they wanted a tropical area. that's it. same reason there's a desert in the middle of France and New York, and soon to be a giant snowy area in Indonesia. GF does not care about this kind of thing.
>>58932368bodied that freak
Gulf stream
>>58932368based
>>58932331First, Stark Mountain's volcanic ash makes the land fertile. Second, not all latitudes are treated equally for various reason (ocean currents, mountains, etc.). The harsh currents in between Snowpoint City and the Battle Zone, that require advanced ships to traverse, likely play a role in the island's comparitively warmer climate.
>>58932331Yeah this is the first time where the climate of a pokemon game makes zero sense and doesn't have any correlation to its irl inspiration. Hoenn sort of did this with Route 111 because there isn't actually a desert in irl, but it can at least be explained by the whole "rain shadow" thing
