>They're finally coming backWho's excited?
>>58942428>islands with nothing to do in them outside seeing a girl get rapped by hypno>can’t even catch new mons there until the postgamewowser
>>58942428>Altering Cave forever a Zubat spawn>Trainer Tower still gimped and a one-and-done speedrun check>other eReader house still entirely patched out>wild encounters will still just be under the context that the Johto Pokemon alone are mostly rare while there's an entire part of the National Dex you cannot get in these gamesStill fun to experience but they're reminders that we didn't even get the full versions on the initial release.
>>58942438> there's an entire part of the National Dex you cannot get in these gamesso just like every single pokemon game before the dexcut?
>>58942449Let me explain something to you.>every single Pokemon game before the dexcut>usually at the very least had every Pokemon coded in>the burden of getting all of these Pokemon that were not obtainable in the wild was on you>you'd have to trade from other versions in the generation, and usually an entire generation would allow you to get mostly there with the exceptions of starters sometimes, or legendaries, etc.>this is of course completely disregarding transfers, of which we have no idea if this is going to have two-way transfer support or the LGPE type of transfers where only Pokemon that have origin marks from Fr/Lg can go in>we don't even know if HOME support is comingFireRed and LeafGreen were released under the context of the fact that you'd be able to connect to Ruby/Sapphire as well. This is why full completion of the game (Gold Trainer Card) requires you to not just get the Kanto Pokemon, but the full National Dex- most everything was available at this point, especially after Colosseum released.Of course completing the entire National Dex between these two releases obviously isn't going to be a thing, but with all of that in mind, yeah I have a problem with the fact that encounters on Sevii Island are mostly Pokemon from mainline Kanto that are high level, sprinkled in with often times low level Johto Pokemon when for this re-release, there's no further context now that something like a Zigzagoon or a Tropius would be something I wouldn't want to see on Sevii Island and is otherwise just in the game. Back then it was fine because in many cases getting high level Kanto Pokemon was nice at the very least for people trading to Ruby and Sapphire so both players could come out of a trade with something, and at worst it wasn't a big deal because this decision wasn't blocking other Pokemon to get in. Now that these releases are isolated, it is far more accented as a negative.
