>>58942943While I support any guy who gets Fire Red, I must say that I NEED Leaf Green.Out of ALL the Gen 3 games (including the Gamecube spin offs), it's the ONLY version with a catchable Slowpoke. So, unless you don't care much, if you want to complete the dex, you need to get Leaf Green.
Leaf green is better overall but fire red has Vileplume so fire red

There was one other kid at school who had LG and once the others realised this and were really into dex hunting, and combine with the fact we had RSE between us which negated half of the exclusives in FRLG, we were able to get some pretty good Pokemon out of it. Remember the highlights for me being the Mt. Battle Cyndaquil and Teddiursa you can get in Gale of Darkness (he wanted two so he had Slowbro and Slowking), then traded me the purified Shadow Moltres for my shiny Slowpoke because he really, really wanted it and I knew the birds had special moves on purification. I didn’t know which ones though and boxed it for an eternity until I decided to start sending it up through the games to get every ribbon on it up to SM in 2016
