If you start on the gameboy advanced hardware and want to move anything from those games into homeThe requirements to do so are:>Gameboy advance >DS original or DS lite>3DS>Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen>Pokemon diamond, pearl, platinum, heart gold, or soul silver>pokemon black/2 or white/2>pokemon transporter>Pokemon bank>Pokemon homeThat's a lotta shit to go through on original hardware and that's not including the multiple time adjustments that need to be made for gen 4 due to the palpark being ass or that you'll be moving about 6-10 pokemon at a time with awful minigames Now if you were using an emulator it would be much faster but you would still at minimum need a 3DS FRLG on the eShop will be a simple open home and transfer and for a lot of people that's enough of a reason to pay $20 instead of having to own and deal with all of THAT nonsense
>>58943388>advanced>nced>d
NOOOOOOO SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!!!BUY ALL MY OLD OVERPRICED SECOND HAND HARDWARE THAT I HAVE LISTED ON EBAY RIGHT NOW!!! NINTENDO IS LITERALLY KILLING ME!!!!!!!!!!
>>58943388>"Why would anyone buy FRLG on switch?" Here's why
>>58943388>FRLG on the eShop will be a simple open home and transfer and for a lot of people that's enough of a reason to pay $20 instead of having to own and deal with all of THAT nonsenseOk, but in another 10 years, you'll still have to jump through 5 different hoops for the switch 7 and pokemon vault.
I mean it's $20 USD for a fucking ROM, not even both. You get none of the benefits of NSO, no rewind, no button mapping. It's not going to be compatible with Colosseum, XD, or Box. RSE likely will happen down the line, but for now, the only thing that these offer is wireless local communication in place of the original link cable/wireless adapter, and HOME compatibility.Which, quite frankly, is all a Pokéfag wants. This is what you should be asking for>Pokémon Advance Collection (contains Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald)>Physical release in addition to digital>Also possibly contains Box, Colosseum, bonus disc, and XD>Allows for multiplayer on one Orre game with up with five screens present (4 GBA, 1 GameCube), extra buttons on Switch controller change screen focus (turn-based and trade menu, only an issue for Pokéblocks and the Sevii Island minigames which are online only)>Allows you to play the games in all the languages they were released, ROMs are rebuilt to be universal>Japanese content restored for all games>All event distributions possible to be distributed>Online trading and battling now built into the game>All e-Reader cards (RS, Colosseum, FRLG, Emerald) accessible from a menu>HOME compatibility>Certain bugs fixed like disappearing roaring roamers>$60
>>58943512>no rewindDo you even think before making a post? Why would Gamefreak allow anyone to use this feature E V E R ?
>>58943388And so I will pay 20 dollars for this obsolete abanonware game full of design flaws like the npcs not matching their portraits and shoving in steel and dark moves but not the evolution, fucking up the gen 3 experience that was not balanced for that
>>58943516Notice that I didn't include it in the greentext. Obviously it's never going to be included in a Pokémon game because of how RNG-heavy and social it is, it's gacha by nature. What I'm saying is that its lack of inclusion becomes an actual slap when you realize that the release doesn't hold a candle to NSO or how other GBA-era games have been brought to the Switch. When Super Mario Advance 4 was brought to NSO (and even the Wii U Virtual Console), it had all its e-Reader levels included. This release of FRLG is minimal effort. There are no deals to be had. The price is exorbitant and the value low. The ONE reason anyone can use to justify it is its HOME compatibility, and even then, BDSP have nearly all of the original 493 Pokémon covered barring events. And like Bank before it, trading older Pokémon to the future is going to reset most of them.
>>58943388People will spend $20 to transfer up like 5 Pokemon to use once then collect dust in their boxes
>>58943565Like all collectors of anything!
>>58943388PKSM
>>58943388does this mean you could get your original FRLG team from cartridge all the way to Pokemon Home?
>>58943388>want to move anything from those games into homeAside from Megakick Mewtwo, what can you even get from FRLG that you can't in newer games? There aren't even exclusive ribbons like RSE.
>>58943940You mean you haven't been transferring up your bros since 3rd gen?
>>58943965i stopped playing at the seventh generation. that bank really needs to be cleared out and secondly i don't know when my cartridges will fail. well i do have digital versions of Ultra Moon and Omega Ruby just for backup in the event something happens to Alpha Sapphire and Ultra Sun. I also wonder if this means we can transfer our 3DS VC pokemon from the first and second gen from pokemon home into FRLG? Tell me how Pokemon Home works? is it a one way transfer or no?
>>58943388All Gen 1 pokemon are availible via switch games and Pokémon go. Why would you need the kanto champion ribbon when you could just emulate the games and get the kanto pokemon a billion other ways?
>>58943977>is it a one way transfer or no?it dependsyou can transfer pokemon from gen 9 to gen 8 for examplewe don't know if we can transfer to these game yet but since VC pokemon were a one way only thing, then I will suppose that you can'tit's because of the extra data that these pokemon get when you transfer them that other games can't really understand so it will corrupt them
>>58943958This, anything Kanto is already available. Unless this is the ONLY Pokemon game you're buying for the Switch, but I already know those aren't the people making these retarded arguments for buying these games. Just emulate.
>>58943388You'd do that? Let Pokemon Rescue team on the streets without a job?:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXht78qQ1E8
>>58944099Tech industry layoffs are brutal
Let's be honest.Gen 3 VC should be released on the 3DS, or New3DS exclusives. Not after Switch 1 death.Switch 2 can run NDS and 3DS games, and we got that shit? Whe should be geting XY HD not this shit.
>>58943388>Emulator + 3DSSounds good to me. Literally anything is better than giving Nintendo money
>>58943512>benefits of NSOyou mean we won't be able to rent it instead of owning it wholesale? oh the horror!
>>58943388The number of salty origcartcucks having their hard work transferring to Home btfod by this release is kekworthy.
>>58944197It's a digital game, that's the extent of owning it, same as if you downloaded a ROM off the internet. You might have a digital license saying you purchased it and can play it, but that's like saying you have an NFT that makes your ROM more valid than the ROM I downloaded or even the one I ripped from my real life cartridge. The reasons it's not on NSO are to prevent you from having any of NSO's features, and to make sure you pay the large sum to play just one of them.
>>58944223But I'm in Japan so I'll own the physical copy.:)
but it's a new save. The pokémon I cherished so much aren't in it. I want to bring up my old pals.
>>58943388Yeah, the whole 7 pokemon you can't get from a Switch game, none of which are in FRLG. That's totally worth buying them for
>>58944223>rent game via NSO>NSO sub expires>games stolen>buy game via eshop>switch multiplayer shuts down>game still available to download years laterwe're talkinga about 'buying to own' vs. 'subscribing to rent'. why would you bring up ROM ripping/emulation?
>>58944233You'll own a novelty reproduction box like they did for Gen I and II, though that's still better than anything that comes out in the west. And it's not hard getting boxed games even for retro games in Japan, I got Stadium 2 (JP) for 300円 one day at Surugaya.
>>58944255>Switch online shuts down>Lose HOME compatibility>You can just play gimped versions of the original games with local wireless but no GameCube compatibility or events
>>58944263>3DS service discontinued>pokemon bank still alivei don't think we have to worry about pokemon home going anywhere. if anything, they'll just port it to the new console.
>>58944223They could have release it on NSO with all those features but no connection features. And the separated ones, with local conection. online and conection to home.
>>58944241$20 for a whole game+mythicals through ace is cheaper than buying the $30 dlcs that does the same thing for people
>>58944272Bank is on life support until nobody cares enough that it's gone
>>58943388Nigger why are you trying to justify what you buy to idiots whose lives are so utterly unhappy that they have to be mad at people buying games to feel anything?
>>58943424>autism>shows a downielmao
Here's an idea>Play a rom of FRLG>There's no point to transfering pokemon to just keep them in Home purgatory forever just to look at their box iconThere saved yourself some cash. I really don't get the people who hoard their pokemon
>>58945188They could go to a gen 8/9 game all Pokemon are in a switch era game now
>>58943388What is the point of going that far though? All the monsters can be acquired in the newer games.
>>58943958>>58943994It depends but there are aspects to home that makes any Gen 3 game having easy access to the service pretty exciting at least from a completionist stand point though overall RSE would be more beneficial. For one there are challenges to complete from transferring certain Pokemon that are a pain to complete normally. I'm not sure they'll do it but I'm also hoping there is a specific FRLG dex to complete as well like the other games. And of course if the Aurora Ticket is available and ACE works that opens up a lot of other neat stuff. Personally as someone who likes completing Home I'm looking forward to them. The price tag is shit but I'm buying them both from the Japanese eshop anyway
>>58943388Why do you need a GBA if you already have a DS? You only need a GBA if you have the Gamecube games
>>58943388>that's not including the multiple time adjustments that need to be made for gen 4 due to the palpark being assuse HGSS to skip that
