Just increase the level cap like Legends ZA did. For competitive, just scale down the levels to level 50 like what’s already implemented in the mainline games.

Again, it’d be a 2D topdown sprite-based game, not full-fledged 3D. Gamefreak was literally pumping a new one out every year from the 2000s to the early 2010s. I think a group of romhackers in the big 2026 could probably pull it off.

Competitive movesets and tactics have been discussed to death for 30 years, a level 100 gym leader is going to be a very different fight from a level 100 Elite 4.

A full 2D game with pixel art of that level would be way more work than 3D though. Game Freak could shit out 2D games because their pixel art was very simple, downright bad in lots of cases.
