I found a smogon set for Sigilyph labeled “stop using blood totem” before the actual blood totem setBlood Totem as a set taught me the magic of meme building in Pokemon and is probably the reason I love the game’s battle system so much. So you burn yourself, then use psycho shift to give that burn to your opponent, then burn yourself again automatically, with Magic Guard preventing you from taking the tick damage and the burn protecting you from other status. Burning everything in front of you gives you defensive bulk by default and calm mind set ups let you get spdef bulk, then when you’re at +6/+6 you sweep with a STAB 260BP psychic move while your opponent burns to death.It’s actually just a mediocre set, generally you get more value out of Sigilyph using Life Orb instead of Flame Orb (since Magic Guard negates LO recoil) and a coverage move instead of Psycho Shift, but Psycho Shift is such a niche move and the interaction is so weird it’s hilarious to watch it play out.
