Did either gen 4 or 5 have some kind of voice chat? I mainly played online to do random battles on black 2's with the matchmaking. Because I cant remember if it was diamond or black, but i was trading with some person i met on serebii's irc when i was like 13, and i heard a grown man's voice through the ds speaker and it scared me

You can just trade Magnemites right now dude. You can do it on emulator, 3DS, DSi, even Lite and the original fat piece of shit if you want to set up an old ass WiFi because Nintendo didn't implement newer ones. It's genuinely really great, a huge step up from Black City/White Forest in BW which are actually terribly implemented (the decay before even reaching there is just fucking awful).
