Oldfag here, (age wise and 4chan usage wise) do you ever feel as though you were born too early to get the full enjoyment of the series? I would have loved to have played mystery dungeon at 10 or pokepark or even most recent poketopia when I was much younger. The titles I played left me jaded toward the series&I looked for better games elsewhere.
>played red/blue, but wanted more of an adventure like in both manga
>played snap&it was shit
>played stadium it was ok, more so a post game for r/b with no exploration
nice battles though and I learned how to make competent movesets
>finally play gold and I was amazed at the mechanics
>refuse to get Stadium 2 because it's going to be the same shit as stadium
> between the two year gap between gen2 &3 discover rpgamer and find out about other rpgs like Bof,FF,Arc the Lad, Dragon Quest, etc.
>they are having adventures like in the anime and manga
>Better monster game in Arc the lad, but no one played it here because it got to the USA too late
It also had a far superior battle tower,
>I wish pokemon was like this
>I see R/S on display in toys'r'us in 2003& it looks like shit in comparison in comparison to other rpgs on the gba
>say fuck it and buy ffta instead
>a bunch of bullshit shill games like puzzle league, channel, trozei & dash released
when other series have good side games and it isn't a minefield
>see collesum on display at toys'r'us
>reused 64 models and shitty graphics in both gamecube titles
>A few years later I try mystery dungeon and it's alright
Sad thing is that another developer made a game with a better ost, sprites & story than gamefreak.
> want to give the series a chance again with D/P after seeing battles in japanese on youtube
>get battle revolution included as a gift as well
>Static sprites after mystery dungeon
>bullshit natures?
>reused N64 models on the wii
> invisible iv/ev grinding just to get a decent online battle?
>say fuck it and turn my back on the series entirely

Nah, honestly I'm pretty glad I got to experience Pokemon when I did as a kid
>Born in 2000
>First game is a second-hand copy of LeafGreen in 2008
>Then a second-hand Pearl a little later
>Bought Black version on release (my sister got White) and experienced the Dream World, events, and GTS at their peak when they were still up (I still have my Porygon-Z C-Gear skin), plus all the Extralink shenanigans

I wasn't there for Pokemania, but I can still say I was THERE when the franchise was still at its finest, IMO

>>59049548
Nope. Pokemania was a sight behold that alphazooms will NEVER experience. Glad i was old enough to remember that.
>>
There's a lot of things that make me feel that way. Playing guitar, learning to draw, anything physical, certain books, anime, manga, etc.
I was born in the just the right time to be obsessed with the early anime and maybe not appreciate it fully like kids older than me, but still like it a lot. I don't really need anything else.
I didn't get to play the games until DP, and by then it didn't really do anything to me, and by now I've played plenty of RPG's so Pokemon is rarely impressive. I can appreciate GF's history and what Pokemon did to RPG's and mons specifically, but yeah the games ran pass me I guess.

yeah your perspective is warped you were born after pokemania. You are zooming right now.

I got Red when I was 6 and Crystal when I was 7. I feel like I got the full enjoyment out of the series up until Gen 6 when I stopped caring.
Sucks to be you I guess

> Red when I was 6 and Crystal when I was 7.
You were barely cognizant you protozoomer. You weren't even old enough to truly understand the true ins and outs till Emerald. Your perspective is warped as well.

They're game for children btw
Your problem isn't that you were born at the wrong time, it's that you were born with autism.

still.. I got through stadium 1 when I was 13 bc I used the missingno glitch to duplicate TMS.
>>
>>59050794
>>59050804
most adults aren't getting through that either because they're not looking up strats or transfering from their other games
if your point is that you didn't enjoy the games properly because of that and you think that everyone else's perception is invalid as well you are autistic
>>
>snap is shit
Fuck you
>>
>>59050794
You're right, I didn't beat that. Because I didn't play that one particular spin off.
I did beat every main game though, and I had what I consider to be the full enjoyment out of the series
Sucks that you feel like yo didn't!
>>
>>59050849
on a single rail and the game as eight hours. Not worth $59.99 back dumbass.

>>59050870
main game isn't the challenge stadium is, and you get worthwhile rewards at the the time.

>>59050846
no the games were shitty in comparison to other jrpgs and monster jrpgs as well.

I mean look at.
