How come Pokemon and My Little Pony are the only franchise worthy of their own board
>>
really proud of that retarded frog, aren't you?
>>
/jp/ was made specifically to keep Touhou off /a/, and visual novels were thrown in there too for good measure. Unfortunately it became filled with 3dpd idol shit in the 2010's and later vtuber generals raped what once was a slow niche board, so then /vt/ was made for those(and yet vtubers didn't become banned, unlike how ponies were banned from /co/)
/m/ might as well be the Gundam board. I think made specifically for when Code Geass was everywhere.
People say that /tg/ was made specifically for Warhammer threads that were on /b/, but this might be apocrypha
And then you got the aforementioned boards
/vp/ was made because Pokemon threads were clog /v/ up whenever news was announced, and primarily during the run-up to gen 5
/mlp/ was made also because they would not just clog up /co/ but other boards too
So it might be just two boards, but in practice it's kinda multiple boards
>>
Because the fanbase is too autistic to be contained in /vg/
>>
>>59050956
too autistic for /v/, this board predates /vg/ by two or three years
god can you imagine this place probably raping that board to death
>>
They're the only two IP's unashamedly aimed at children that the majority of the site cannot into and can't let others enjoy without seething and shitting their nappies over. They have their own boards, as the audiences for them threaten the other users psychologically to the point it was better to create boards for them, so they could go back to bitching about video games than discussing video games to play.
>>
>>59050956
/vp/ existed before /vg/, newfaggot
>>
>>59050947
>/mlp/ was made also because they would not just clog up /co/ but other boards too
And unlike Pokemon posting MLP content outside of /mlp/ and /trash/ gets you a vacation for three days.

can't tell what's more embarrassing: grown men being into MLP or grown men being upset over grown men being into MLP
>>
>>59050885
Why does My Little Pony get its own board but we can't have a furry board?
>>
>>59050967
Grown men being into a little girl's show is a normal thing for several boards on this site
Grown men being so buttmad about a little girl's show that ENDED SEVEN years ago to the point they snipe ANY image of it from the entire site long after the fandom rampaged the net, that's more deranged
>>
>>59050970
Furry Derangement Syndrome inherited from 4chan's Something Awful origin. There actually was a /fur/ once for April's Fools Day a long ass time ago, but moot perma'd everyone who posted it once the day ended
If it makes you feel better just remember that moot and the rest of the mods probably got raped by Epstein
>>
>>59050967
You really need to understand HOW pervasive and intrusive ponyfags were back at the time. They made furries, lolifags, and trannies look like hermits in comparison. It's quaint how it's still a bannable offense nowadays, but it was genuinely necessary at the time.
>>
>>59050970
you already have boards for weird porn and gay shit
>>
>>59050970
Blame Moot and Hiro.
For better or worse, Moot's opinions shaped the current layout of the site and the general boards that we use now. Hiro is totally uninterested in modernizing the site, he just collects a paycheck and pays zero attention. The only board he made was /qa/, which he quickly abandoned once his curiosity about the site waned. And since nobody went to /qa/ it was taken over by several different groups, eventually becoming a festering hive for a group of board raiders that would plague the site, and still continue to do so today. OP is one of them, he only made this thread to show off the shiny Terastal Pepe he made because he's 14 and still thinks pepes are funny.

But that's also why we don't have a modern furry board or other desired boards, like /incel/ for internet celebrity gossip. Hiro doesn't want to shake up the site and the mods are fine with the current board setup, so nothing will change. Ideally even /mlp/ should've been closed years ago, since like others have said, it's been decades since that show was relevant. Let them go back to zombie generals on /co/, like the other completed shows. Even Homestuck, the first general banned from /co/ due to awful posting, has a general on /co/ once again.
>>
>>59050947
/tg/ unironically needed to be hemorrhaged into /40k/ and /vtt/ like 10 years ago, but the board is so slow now because this never happened it'd just be 2 dead boards instead of 1 kinda slow and extremely shitty board.
>>
>>59051008
It's a really good pepe though
>But that's also why we don't have a modern furry board or other desired boards, like /incel/ for internet celebrity gossip
Those boards would be fucking awful. I'm fine with certain boards not existing because this place can be quite the tumor on other fandoms or hobbies.
>/incel/
is just /r9k/, and arguably some other boards. /r9k/ was originally moot's sad attempt at promoting OC creation, hence the robot filtering on original comments and images, but by 2013 it was already the virgin blog whining board. I don't think that is irreversible at all. Also the board moot brought back while creating /pol/, after meeting Epstein
>internet celebrity gossip
/vt/ is the closest thing we got to it and it's already awful. I think people can go to Kiwi Farms for that stuff.
>Let them go back to zombie generals on /co/, like the other completed shows. Even Homestuck, the first general banned from /co/ due to awful posting, has a general on /co/ once again.
/co/ is funny because it's constantly ignored by the weeb moderators, so futa cock can stay up for a whole day but ponies can be a ban on sight
This place really is on autopilot since moot left
>>
>>59051050
/tg/ is creepy because that place seems raped to death by merely one schizo post asinine questions, and the schizos who call everyone that schizo
This site is dying.
>>
>>59050947
/m/ was made back when 4chan was so new that moot would just make new boards if anons said they wanted them.
>>
>>59051008
>internet celebrity gossip
That's unironically /v/
>>
Boards like /vp/, /jp/, /mlp/ etc get made because the fambases are annoying to other users and they're have too many fans to simply ban outright.

They're usually useless because they don't get quarantined except for/mlp/.
>>
>>59051085
/mlp/ was the only one that really needed quarantining. Ponies were EVERYWHERE on the site, you could not escape them. It pissed absolutely everyone off.

Both fanbases are full of autistic furfags and pedos
>>
>>59051085
>/vp/ users were annoying
quaint, aint it? Nowadays /vp/ is almost a safe haven compared to /v/, and I fully believe the next Smash announcement will force mods to shit out a /nin/tendo board.
>>
>>59050970
>furry board
I'd frequent that for the inflation and weight gain threads NGL.
>>
>>59050885
We could have had a Naruto board by now...
>>
>>59051057
Sounds a lot like /an/.
>>
>>59050947
>/m/ might as well be the Gundam board. I think made specifically for when Code Geass was everywhere.
It was made to contain Gundam SEED discussion a month or two before Destiny started airing so its fanboys would quit shilling that slop on /a/.
>>
>>59051098
>It pissed absolutely everyone off
It still does to this day because SOME PEOPLE just can't get over something from *checks notes* almost a decade ago and grow thicker skin.

Also I remember someone on a forum getting banned because they spammed gore on a pony thread.
>>
>>59051222
Mods don't care enough to make containment boards anymore, not that I think they're some nostalgic idea nor that the mods ever fucking bothered to enforced containment outside of /mlp/
>>
>>59051240
The best thing moot ever did was turning /a/ into that like a year before he left
>>
>>59051222
>Nowadays /vp/ is almost a safe haven compared to /v/
Other than the usual Shartyshit that occurs I agree because we can criticize Nintendo and use terms like "Shitendo" and "Nintencuck".
>>
>>59050979
>7 years
anything worth watching ended after twilicorn so it's been a lot longer than that
>>
>>59050885
Hazbin Hotel has an entire board dedicated to it too.
>>>/trash/
>>
>>59051311
I know this is a joke but no
Though it is notable how /trash/ is de-facto /fur/, though that's still barely half the board in actuality
>>
I think the draconian rules against MLP only exist because one of the mods is a ponyfag and he desperately wants to keep the board alive, so even non MLP stuff gets pushed there like other horse shows or TFH
>>
Naruto used to be treated like /mlp/ on /a/ because it attracted normalfags but instead of making them a new board Moot just stopped everyone from bullying them.
>>
>>59051293
>almost a decade ago
15 years ago, anon
>>
>>59051418
16. We're closer to the 20th anniversary of the show than its finale.
>>
>>59051506
The show premiered late 2010 so it hasn't been 16 years yet
>>
>>59051302
>"Shitendo" and "Nintencuck"
The Pokemon Fan / Nintendo Fan divide is probably the largest it's ever been, more than even the 3ds/wii u era. Not every pokemon enjoyer plays the latest games or even has a switch 2 (I'd argue most dont), and among the ones that do half of em dont even like the hardware they just suffer Nintendo's faggotry for the sake of pokemon.
