>Yeah so I gave this level 11 Spinda in Sprout Tower 90 base power STAB uproar, have fun
fuck this retard, another HGSS playthrough quit after this gay ass tower because I have to run back and heal my team every encounter
>>

this is what happens when you attempt to improve on perfection
>>
>play volt white 2
>colress has Bug Buzz Magneton specifically to punish people who caught a sandile
oh yeah that's fair.

>retard lost to a fucking spinda
KEKKK
>>
>>59054283
Is that in the original BB2/VW2 or just the shitty Redux version?
>>
>>59054435
That's Redux, yeah. In OG it was just a Magnemite with Signal Beam, still bad for Sandile but not nuclear.
>>
>>59054435
What makes Redux shitty? I thought it was from the same guy, and people were recommending it for Gen5 romhacks
>>
>>59054465
>What makes Redux shitty?
It is another generic "Pokémon Game BUT HARDER" which these days just means you have to play with the documentation open and you have to know how to play competitive shit to defeat Gym Leaders and Rival.
>I thought it was from the same guy
Drayano made the original Blaze Black and Volt White / BBVW2, then someone got his permission to make these Redux versions since Drayano never updated them
>>
>>59054482
>you have to play with the documentation open
Lmao. No, you don't.
>>
>>59054588
Yeah, yeah you do
>>
>>59054482
>>59054623
I’ve played Redux before and it’s nowhere near difficult enough to require the documentation open.
>>
>>59054643
agreed. sure it's hard, but the only reason you'd need docs is to check what pokemon spawn in an area since it does the autistic thing where some pokemon are really rare encounters just so they could fill the encounter tables.

Before with Redux changes. I think the latest one is 1.4.1 and dev has nerfed many of the "exploitable" things.
Docs are not required all the time but if you are nuzlocking it, you will require them. Given the nature of the game, unless you are paid to play this game (streamers and Youtubers), Nuzlocking it is pain. I tried and gave it around 70-80 attempts in total that too in normal mode but lost all of them.
The game has other mechanisms to shit you from such a height that you think to yourself God himself crapped on you. You as a player are limited but AI isn't. AI will pull out level 45 Dragon Dancing Flygon while your Vibrava evolves at level 55 and doesn't even learn DDance. AI will have perfect IVs, nature, movesets and items, while you aren't given much option.
"Leftovers? Best I can do is Black Sludge. Buy by winning PWT after Clay". Oh, and the crits. I don't know what it is but AI crits three or four times in a battle even when the battle ends in less than 10 turns. I lost last attempt because I low rolled on damaging move and AI high rolled and crit.
Overall the game is not easy. Definitely not like Renegade Platinum which the devs say about Normal Mode. Challenge Mode is inspired from Radical Red but without much tools in your disposal.

It really is a shame many people praise AphexCubed when he's an insufferable faggot. The pokemon romhacking community really is dogshit nowadays with how many make hacks for the hope some basedtuber covers it and boosts their egos. Maybe I'm wrong but it feels like there is nothing for me to enjoy as a casual player. Mind you I beat BBVW2 back in high school (2019 is when I played iirc, graduated in 2020) and I couldn't fucking stand Redux when I tried it out a year or two ago. Apologies if this is all over the place, just wanted to say my frustrations.

Hardcore nuzlockers ruined the entire pokemon romhacking community

I feel you. Drayano's original works mostly included changes that were actually needed. Easier evolution, a bit revamping of some shitmons, items availability, and ability to catch all the mons. It was still fun for casual and hardcore runs. But with the advent of difficulty hacks, each hack strives to be next EK, R&B or Null.
I have a hypothesis on this especially hardcore nuzlockers. It's far-fetched but there are two major reasons why we are seeing this awful trend
>Time
Number of shutins and NEETs have increased. They have all the free time in the world which they invest in these games.
If you look at the streamers (I know ecelebs but bear with me), they quit their job (if they had any) to do full time nuzlocking. FlygonHG, pchal, Drxx, Moxi, etc. have their streams as their primary source of income. Those who had actual jobs like Mr.DingDongGames and DocZ have stopped posting and streaming.
>Novelty
You can only play a vanilla games so many times to milk the views. Sooner or later you have to move to romhacks and same situation with vanilla games arrives. To make the content engaging few runs are done with obscure rulesets like no setup moves, hardcore+, one death equals reset, New Game+, etc. Since romhackers hang out in their Discord server as well, it's just a matter of time when the feedback loop becomes a self-sustaining echo chamber. Romhackers start adjusting their design choices specifically to satisfy these "pro nuzlockers" because that's where the engagement is. In return, the streamer would spend hundred of hours on these romhacks which generates massive visibility for the hack. Consequently, the "average" player gets left behind as the baseline difficulty shifts from "challenging but fair" to "spreadsheet-required."
It's a sad state of things and I suspect it's a small but vocal minority that is causing all this.

Isn't Sprout Tower optional until you beat the entire rest of the game but realize that Mt Silver needs Flash?
>>
>>59055479
In Gen 2, it was optional. The remakes made it mandatory.
