>>59059989That's true, but it also has access to on demand deck thinning in said Gabite meaning it's easier to set up multiple, 400 hp on 2 prizes, the same damage (more if you grab roserade which doesn't demand you run said drinks and can reach higher with both), and some other minor bits that I think make it better than Lucario. The Gabite are probably the best stage 1 you could ask for as well since it guarantees you'll never be locked out of your evo and it tutors almost every pokemon in the pile. I might try it again after we get the Barbaracle since my biggest problem was not having the ability to put 2 energy on in a pinch

Intentionally failing Poke Pads and Poffins during the midgame so that they don't end up back in your deck is thinning. Searching for cards just to discard them with Ultra Ball, and then failing that Ultra Ball, is thinning.
