Electric Types are boring and lame. I wish they weren't... I want them to be exciting and cool. Do you guys have any ideas for how to improve Electric Types' public image?
>>
>>59060833
stop kneecapping them to make Pikachu look better would help
>>
>animal but yellow
>animal but red
Electric and fire are the most boring type because they dont really exist very often in nature and gamefreak are faggots without ideas
>>
>>59060833
give them five monotype Megas

They're not that bad, there's plenty of good designs, like the Pikachu line, Jolteon, Zapdos, Ampharos, Galvantula, etc. Maybe they haven't had a really good one in a while, idk I haven't played past gen 6. Toxtricity seems alright, the robot paradox pokemon too.

I think they should lean more into the very weird animals that happen to control electricity instead of
>It's a bird but yellow
Vikavolt fucking rules, and Lanturn is quite smart, but then there's Galvantula which has a good design but it's just
>spider but yellow
>>
>use cyan/electric blue in their color scheme way more often
>give them a ~70-80BP Fire Type move that they have common access to
>make Electric do 2x to anything that has the Levitate ability (lightning does far greater damage to anything that's airborne)

These would help a lot. And I think a lot of it comes down to animation. You can't have an Electric Type simply standing there, most of them should be full of frantic energy, always moving around erratically
>>
>>59060882
Forgot Eelektross, that's another based lil guy
>>
Cinderace should've been Fire/Electric
>>
>>59060833
We would have type diversity if they didn't get retarded and let one pokemon hog the concept of appliances. Instead we get 52345435 Rotom forms and 4234 pokemon that are basically "Electricus, the Electric Pokémon. This Pokémon electrifies its opponents with electricity from its electric organ. Electric."
>>
GIVE ME AN ELECTRIC FUCKING CHEETAH ALREADY I'VE BEEN WAITING DECADES

NO ZERAORA DOES NOT COUNT THAT IS A YELLOW TIGER ON HIS WAY TO THE FURRY CONVENTION
>>
>>59060956
Mega Electricus gets even more electricy
>>
>>59060882
What other animals like that exist?
>>
>>59060867
>like the Pikachu line, Jolteon, Zapdos, Ampharos, Galvantula
Almost none of these are good designs.
>>
>>59060956
>They keep making new Rotom forms
>They haven't made any that could be used in battle since they first made the concept
They found a way to disappoint everyone

>>use cyan/electric blue in their color scheme way more often
Aurorus's color scheme literally almost fits this and the sails are mostly yellow with blue on the outer edges.
>>
>>59060885
>(lightning does far greater damage to anything that's airborne)
Exact opposite. Lightning will only flow to ground. If you were to jump up and grab something electrified it wouldn't actually shock you unless your feet touched the ground, or got close enough for it to arc to the ground.

Electric should hit steel super effectively.
>>
>>59060833
The problem is that they either die to Earthquake spam or are super lame designs or are Zapdos. That's it, that's all Electric types. Trying to make a PVP mono Electric team cool means using fagmons through and through if you don't want it to suck.
>>
>>59061874
It's not cyan because of electricity you stupid mothertucker it's cyan because it's an ice type. Yes that is completely fucking different, even if it's the same color. Context matters. Also I didn't fucking SAY none of them were electric blue, why did you bring up this example as if I had said no cyan electric types exist? ALSO MOTHERFUCKER, Aurorus is not an electric type

why did you waste my time with your post??

>>59061978
>Lightning will only flow to ground
That is incorrect. Commercial airplanes are constantly struck by lightning. The passengers are only safe because the metal shell is designed with this in mind.

>If you were to jump up and grab something electrified it wouldn't actually shock you unless your feet touched the ground
That is COMICALLY incorrect. Why the fuck do you think Flying is weak to Electric in the first place. If you touch ANYTHING electric while you're airborne th damage is extremely severe because the electricity will stay in your body instead of travelling into the ground
>>
>>59062147
>ALSO MOTHERFUCKER, Aurorus is not an electric type
I know but IMO it may as well be one since it can learn quite a few Electric type moves.
>>
>>59060833
Stop giving the cool dual typings to legendaries, pikaclones, and gimmick mons?
>>

>>
The reason why they're "boring" is because of Game Freak being a literal fuckass over their movepools (and in Legends ZA all five electric type megas not having dual typings).

This is also what shitposters don't understand when they target Pokemon such as Zebstrika for not being popular by demonizing them as "boring cartoon animals". IT'S THEIR STATS AND MOVEPOOLS THAT ALWAYS GET KEKED.
>>
>>59060833
>make 2 physical electric attackers in gen4
>give them both ass movesets
sasuga gamefreak
>>
>>59063569
It's almost if Game Freak is a retard when it comes to movepools for Pokemon of certain types, but the Sharty would have you convinced that it's because the Pokemon is "a boring cartoon animal".
>>
>>59063533
It would make sense for Electric types to have moves that burn or start fires, especially if Grassy Terrain is active
>>
>>59060833

Im surprised we havent got an electric/psychic based on a brain. Seems like an obvious idea.

Would be nice, electric gets bad coverage moves. Something like “filament charge”, where they pump current through a part of their body to make it hot.

Also, give “overheat” to any remotely robotic mon. The fuck you mean magnezone can’t overheat?

>all have the same role
>all have the same three abilities (static, lightning rod, volt absorb)
>all become deadweight just with the presence of ground types (by far the most common type in comp)
electric type is my favorite type but honestly there's no hope for this type for this franchise
>>
make magnezone a shillmon
>>
>>59060833
What’s the most interesting Electric-type design? Magnemite?
>>
Ghost/Electric Chandelure alternate line where it's a lampost/slenderman thing would be fun. too bad it'll instead be a single stage pikaclone whose lore revolves around being tricked by a mimikyu or something
>>
>>59064034
Are Ground Types common??? Earthquake is common, but that's not th same thing>>59064073

this is, fair, balanced, and perfect

Ice should resist Electric. And I don't mean "I want it to happen" (tho that'd certainly be nice for all those Water/Ice Types), I mean literally, it SHOULD resist it. Snow and ice are fairly well known as terrible electric conductors. They're basically insulated from it, lightning attacks ought to be doing a lot less damage to anything made of ice.
>>
>>59064028
Galvantula, Electivire, Magnezone
>>
>>59060843

>>
>>59060833
Just make a really really strong and cool looking one that's also really strong.
Like something with suped up Jolteon stats that's some sort of super streamlined dinosaur with a mostly black color scheme that gets super strong coverage.
Or Idk, Electric/Grass big scary chungo guy with thick fat and massive HP, Defense, and spatk, idk if that would even be good.

Either way the types problem is that all of its pokemon are things I really really don't want to use. They're either super lame looking or unusably shit or both.
>>
>>59065235
only if we change metal to be weak to electric
>>
>>59065641
Sorry homie but y'all really gotta quit saying this. That's not how it works. Metal conducting electricity does not mean Steel should be weak to Electric. The metal shells of cars and airplanes is precisely what protects people while inside them. But a lightning rod strapped to a dog would clearly cause die. It would cause die, in the dog.

The neutral relationship is extremely appropriate. Whether or not being made of metal is a good thing or bad thing in terms of electric stikes is 100% context dependent. It depends on how the metal is distributed, and what the electricity's path of least resistance is. If that path is your heart, you're fucked. If that path is into the ground, you'll walk away unharmed or minimally affected. Every Steel Type is going to be different with this.
>>
>>59065678
Pokemon isn't heavily based on physics. Otherwise wate would beat steel due to rust, fire would resist flying because oxygen increases it's potency and ice would beat normal and fighting because it freezes their blood. It all works on kid logic. Water put out the fire, fire melts the ice, water conducts electricity. Metal also conducts electricity, so the thing with a spine and head made of it aren't going to enjoy getting hit with it. Even if a steel type had a perfectly grounded shell that was insulated to avoid hitting the squishy innards, it's going to heat up and boil them. Plus on a gameplay standpoint steel could use a weakness. They could even get creative with it and give the ones who can take such a shock ground type or the lightningrod ability.
>>
>>59065678
so Electricity can be super effective against Water because the metals usually found in water makes it more conductive, but the steel type shouldn't be because... you don't vibe with it?
>>
>>59060833
I don't see how electric is more boring and lame than any other particular type. Every type as shitmons, lame mons and ugly mons, even dragon.
>>
>>59064034
>all become deadweight just with the presence of ground types
Not all, but far too many. Electric/Flying dual types are allowed to exists, as well as support based mono type electrics who don't need to do damage like Electabuzz
