I agree but it's such a missed opportunity that they didn't evolve his Magneton and Sneasel even in the post-game of HGSS. Literally would've been the best rival team even today.

It's better that they had Silver get humbled by Lance mid-way through the games. So instead of a title reflecting his growth, his team of Pokemon reflects that growth instead. I'm glazing the fuck out of Silver but it really is great that he goes from calling his Pokemon useless to his genuine partners and having his Crobat and Starter be proof of this effort.
