I remember when I played Clover all the way back in 2020 there were multiple battles where I was ramming my head into a wall repeatedly until I could flowchart a victory over the borderline deterministic AI. ended up quitting at the eighth gym, I probably could have gotten gud through the rest of the game but I just wasn't having fun.
