Tengen, Color Dreams/Wisdom Tree, Camerica, and AVE carts were always pretty common in flea markets and used game stores suggesting NOA's attempts to prevent stores from selling them weren't all that successful.

As for US ones, if you look at Bootgod's site, the other thing you notice about those Tengen, Color Dreams etc games is that all components in them are American or Taiwanese. There's no Japanese chips in the things for same reason.
