I am back again and still suck at this game for some reason (but its a lot of fun so I play anyway).

trying for a space themed section over in the corner. this map has alot more room and I like the geography. mixed feelings at the moment, built a really cool corkscrew coaster and I am surprised how well it works. then built a multi-dimensional coaster, thought the concept was really cool. lowest excitment rating I have ever seen.

will have to delete that and put something else. do you guys have a favorite coaster type? will take a break and come back later this evening.

I always got the impression that people mainly played on the latest stable version, so that's what I host for standardization purposes. If the latest development build fixes these bugs, we can switch over to that. I don't know how else to fix the join/disconnect bug.

if you misunderstood me, here is what I mean:

I prefer to use things in the regular repos versus from the AUR and I also prefer using release, stable software versus development builds.

stable works on my machine, I have never tried installing the development release because they use stable on the server I have been playing in for the last three weekends.

my prior post was intended as a message to the server host, that as a participant in the server he hosts, I vote we stay on stable. because it has been working for all of the people so far.

all of that being said, if you genuinely want to play with us and cannot get the stable release to work, maybe try posting some information about stable versus development or at least ask nicely that we switch, instead of accusing me of being unable to get software I have never attempted to install to work.

this is one of those "if its not broke, don't fix it situations." who cares what other people are doing? like I said before, if you want to play with us, the server host seems like a nice guy, if you made a compelling argument I'm sure he would accommodate you, but, right now you are doing this:

I've always used stable on OpenRCT2 and never had any problems, but I also only use the portable version. I've seen enough people have problems using the install/'upgrading from an install' method. Once they uninstall and use the portable, it fixes most issues, including connectivity problems.
Also, all nightly builds are not created equal. I used a custom ROM for years, and it only had nightly releases. Never had a problem. Software on the other hand....

This. I use a RPCS3 nightly portable that self-updates and it is great, but it has broken game compatibility in the past after an update.

it seems silly for 4 people to inconvenience themselves for the whims of a single other person who hasn't even attempted to troubleshoot their issue. why don't you try what the anon I quoted suggested (the portable) and report back? if this is a well-known issue that the devs are aware of and their advise is "use the nightly," kindly link the thread here so we can read it.
