What's the word on Romero's game that Microsoft pulled funding on? As I understand it the IP and work is still all owned by Romero, so they should still be able to work on it if they re-prioritize features or find new investors.

I finished playing that Kiss Psycho Circus game from a few threads ago, gonna post some more videos. As I progressed through the campaign, a lot of the problems I mentioned before turned out not to be relevant, and I’m overall pretty positive about it. Especially considering it’s a game based on a comic book based on a band predicated on dressing like clowns. However, the most interesting parts are still when something breaks, so that’s most of what I clipped. Just don’t get the unfair impression the whole game’s like that.Originally, I said the Jack-in-the-box bombs are kinda useless, which is true individually, but later the game gives you a lot more of them and you can use them effectively by spamming a bunch at once. Like many retro shooters, the slope physics in this game are a little awkward. I manage to get stuck in this innocuous corner while trying to focus on the epic clown battle. Eventually I just had to clip out. Fortunately, the noclip command is just “noclip”, easy to guess.

>>12196807The rocket launcher in this game will blind you every time it’s projectiles impact. Disabling “enable flash blending” in options makes it a lot subtler, something I wish I knew at the start of the game. I have no idea how the scores are calculated, but apparently they thought it was important enough to constantly occupy the top right of the hud.

>>12196817Most of the time it’s not possible to die in cutscenes in this game, however… One complaint I’ll maintain even after beating this game is that it has too many cutscenes, most of which don’t even attempt to tell a story, they just try and look cool.
>>12196820The fog at the start of the third episode is so dummy thick it makes it hard to basic combat, so I disabled it. Later, I found out the sky rendering is tied somehow to the fog and the result is this. Looks terrible, but it’s worth it. Trying to snipe these guys with the fog would be really hard.
