This and Batrider are the ideal form of shmupsThey feel free, you can beat them in multiple ways, they don't feel on-rails, you don't have to copy a route verbatim, you can adapt to circumstances rather than feeling like you need to reset after fucking up.As much as I like some CAVE games, I WISH Garegga's design philosophy had more impact beyond just the quantity of bullets.Batrider's optional bosses especially add so much, even if you choose not to do them because they make the game harder, just having them there expands the world of the game into feeling like something beyond a simple track on rails.
The metagame aspect instantly makes them a nonstarter for me.
>>12720657>They feel freeNot really? The levels are just designed in such a way that your attention is pulled all over the place. I like the games but the stage design is definitely intentionally designed in a very schizophrenic way, and the effect is that it's very mentally fatiguing in a way you don't consciously realize.>I WISH Garegga's design philosophy had more impact beyond just the quantity of bulletsYagawa made several games for CAVE directly which play kinda similiarly.>having them there expands the world of the game into feeling like something beyond a simple track on railsHave you tried them? Because batrider gets pretty silly once you start milking things. It's very precise and complicated.
>>12720657>low iq loser schizo posts same thread again for weeks on endhave you tried creating a thread people would want to post in and not using 4chan as a blog for losers with schizophrenia?
