>*randomly bans 1M sub channel from the biggest vtubing corpo*nothing personal kiddowhat are you gonna do about it? go to twitch?
youtube doesn't know or care about vtubers you aint special to youtube because you're from hololive.
>>106525875Anon.That's not YouTube's logo anymore.
>>106525904Is this why vtubers live rentfree in their head?
who?

>>106525904/thread
This is a big embarrassment for youtube, especially in Japanese corporate culture. Cover is a massive customer of theirs, it wouldn't surprise me if someone gets fired over this, even if it was Risu's fault for not properly securing her account. If it was just some random indie youtuber google wouldn't give a shit of course, but they get like 100 million or more views a month from hololive, not to mention christ knows how much money in supas and gifted membies. That being said did anyone even notice Risu was banned before this thread was posted /here/? I sure didn't!
>>106528308Yeah, Mint got hit for "direct linking a gambling website" while she was making angry baby noises. https://x.com/MintFantome/status/1985558521010704809/video/1
>>106525875>ai is going to replace human jobsthe ai:
>>106525904You think youtube doesn't know or care about a publicly traded corporation with an ~800 million USD market cap that uses their platform almost exclusively to stream their content? It is extremely obvious you have never worked in a corporate environment. The last fucking thing on earth that youtube wants is for Cover to sign an exclusivity agreement with twitch or kick, that would be a humiliating public blow to youtube, which already exists as a loss leader for google losing money every year, and Kick in particular has been hyper aggressive about poaching creators from other platforms. Just because Risu isn't important to cover or google's bottom line doesn't mean this isn't a highly embarrassing customer service blunder with an extremely important client. It wouldn't surpise me in the slightest if someone at youtube got fired over this (even though it probably was risu's fault for not properly securing her account)
>>106525875Why tho? Didnt she get hacked or something?Regardless they will give it back. Youtube has contracts with huge companies like Hololive. Do you think they can just actually delete a channel forever like that? lol she would have show like actual gore or something.
>>106528618She got hacked by crypto scammers and googles AI moderation flagged and deleted her account over it. This is the second time a hololive account has gotten hacked (Kronii was also hacked by crypto scammers) Which makes me question cover's cybersecurity practices.
>>106525904>you aint special to youtube because you're from hololiveYou should be special to YouTube because you have a million subs, though.
>>106528702>Which makes me question cover's cybersecurity practices.it's not their fault, YT's 2FA is broken beyond hope and accounts are pretty easy to hijack. go to >>>/g/ if you wanna know more.
>>106528702>>106529376If it's the same scam that hit Kronii and quite a few indies (and I think it is) then it's because she opened up a PDF from an email which allows for the scammer to access browser session tokens - 2FA isn't even needed (nor are passwords). If people weren't fucking retarded this wouldn't keep happening.
>>106528611Twitch, maybe, but Kick? Never happening. It'd be funny as shit to see Holo permanently move to Twitch, though.
>>106528611>You think youtube doesn't know or care about a publicly traded corporation with an ~800 million USD market cap that uses their platform almost exclusively to stream their content? No, lol. Youtube is worth around 500 billion USD, they could shut down every Hololive channel and it would not affect them in the slightest, the entirety of vtubing is practically insignificant to them, even more so a sub-contained company.
>>106529623I agree they would never actually go to Kick but they could use the threat of going there as leverage. Kick is trying to go mainstream and shed their scrappy alt media wild west branding. They have an F1 team now.
>>106529472How is that even possible?
>>106528611>holodrone thinking their corpo is the center of the universe
>>106529929Yeah if they were retarded. In reality, every little bit counts, and if they act like headless cunts that care zero about the people making money for them. Also you can say that about anything, the "little thing" doesn't matter but eventually they do
>>106528611>muh market capKek, so then Nijisanji is worth more to them than Hololive by your metric
>>106528611For some reason nobody could comprehend, there's a cover collab with twitch
>>106530083PDFs are incredibly insecure, 4chan got hacked because of it too.
>>106530108>and if they act like headless cunts that care zero about the people making money for themAnon... they already do that
>>106529929Oh my god you're right! Google already has a lot of money so that means they don't care about making more money, they're set for life! That is totally how publicly traded companies operate, they aren't obsessed with wringing every conceivable cent of their assets to maximize shareholder value, they are run like a bed and breakfast or corner bodega. You must be a FAANG employed Wharton MBA or something similar with galaxy brained thinking like this!
>>106530167Kek, Hololive is not what's gonna be making their company earn more money, by a long shot. The COVID era is over.
>>106530113Obviously market cap isn't the end all be all of a brand's value, no one said it is. I simply used it as a simple metric to demonstrate that Cover isn't some rinky dink mom and pop operation that youtube would blow off or ignore. Nijisanji would certainly have a great deal of cache also (exclusively because their JP branch is very popuplar in japan despite being almost compeletely unknown in the west)
>>106530211The covid era is over yet you are still saying "kek" like it's 2016. Curious!
>>106530155Wow. Was there a post mortem report somewhere I can read?
>>106530260Kiwi farms has you covered there anon
It’s extremely unfortunate that automated tools are primarily what’s used, but with the volume of footage uploaded what else can YouTube do? They could hire ever call centre in the world and it wouldn’t be enough to monitor the website. I know it wouldn’t result in better and fairer moderation, but YouTube is at the point where uploads should be limited to paid users, such as Premium subscribers. But even the human enforcement team is a poor experience for everyone. Considering that the reasons she was hacked more likely due to a flaw on YouTube’s part than herself, with a corporate backing, things will hopefully resolve, but not everyone has this help.
>>106527074so no value was lost
>>106530331I agree in general that automated tools are a necessary evil when moderating an enormous platform like YouTube, but its simply bad business to not give preferential treatment to your most important customers. Hololive, Niji, Mr Beast, JeetSeries etc should never be moderated without intervention from an actual human being.
>>106530452Hololive and Niji are not compared to the other channels you mentioned
>>106528702it's PDF(adobe) fault with malicious link and shithow I can blame cover for thisheck even linus get hacked like that
>>106530586Hololive and Niji are absolutely comparable in size to Mr Beasts media empire (I don't know what he calls his company... Beast Holdings or whatever). Maybe not exactly as big but the same order of magnitude. Have you ever been to Japan anon? Holo and Niji are HUGE there, they aren't exclusively for autistic nerds like they are in the west, they are completely mainstream, and normie coded. Suisei was on the cover of Forbe's magazine in japan for fuck's sake.
>>106525875YouTube really went to shit since Poojas took over
>>106525905It's not?
>>106530656Shouldn't their managers be the ones handling the emails though?
>>106525875Why tho?
>>106530741It's the red and white play button now. It's been that case for several years.
>>106530452>>106530586I’m narrow in my YouTube viewing so LTT is the other channel I know that suffered this (presumably same hack method), and they have combined fewer subscribers than Hololive and they had a YouTube representive in contact them. It’s difficult for anyone to get in contact with someone at YouTube though. I’m sure even PewDiePie when he was top channel was put on hold multiple times before getting through. YouTube is so opaque though, so while I should expect this is resolved happily, even Hololive might get stonewalled, even if for a few hours.
Lot videos getting removed on Youtube the past year. 70% of my playlists and watchlater is [removed]. Wtf are they doing?
>>106530091I don't care in the slightest about holo vs. niji or phase or whatever. I have business background and I've worked in customer service and sales for a smallish software company, and I love vtubing so this story intersects with a lot of my interests, and I want to debate and discuss it. I know this is the wrong platform to have any kind of meaningful conversation but /here/ is where the thread is so I'm giving it the old college try.
>>106528308>>106528440Google's purchase of youtube has been one, long, slow murder
