>>115147756I can agree with this at this point in time, I mostly watch the same dudes I've followed on twitch for years if I want normal daily gaming streams, they do it consistently and it's entertaining. I don't watch vtubers for gaming skills but it also means I don't necessarily care to listen to their yaps about how awesome their life is when they take breaks and don't stream, which in itself makes the stream very boring and uninteresting so it's a direct clash. They have no good stories to tell anyway. When it's special events or streams I'm much more interested, which is also the reason people like debut streams. It's a new person trying their best to give a good first impression so they actually try, then it falls off as the routine kicks in and everything slowly becomes the same as everyone else over time. The biggest weakness of vtubers is exactly as you said. They have to stream for consistency but also streaming so much devalues them at the same time since it means they're not gonna be working on anything new or interesting and it eventually feels like going through the routine just like a normal job. I think a lot of people realize this subconsciously which is why vtbing has seen a decrease in audience over the years. They're not doing anything interesting, it's the same routine everywhere you look.
