Why do you prefer one over the other?
gif emotes > emotes you have to squint to see
>>88533093Twitch has way too many fucking ads, inconsistent management that blatantly plays favorites, and a godawful chat culture
>>88533093ublock doesn't block twitch ads so I don't go on twitch.
>>88533093My oshis stream on twitch
YouTube discriminates less against vtubers than Twitch (unless you're a part of the protected class that is). That and Twitch is currently imploding with all the shit that's being exposed right now, including preferential treatment and whimsical staff who are confirmed to have specific agendas against specific streamers/vtubers, which further reinforces what a fucking shithole that site is. Plus Twitch has cancerous ads.
They are both shit, but at least twitch works. Chat has lots of good features, streams don't randomly buffer, and my tabs don't crash.
>>88533093The people I watch are on twitch
I hate twitch's culture and noisy layout, simple as. Other stuff, such as vtuber hate is just a bonus reason why I should keep avoiding it
>>88534114>bans your oshiNothing personnel kid
>>88534114>streams don't randomly bufferBullshit
I play games so twitch.
Twitch is a platform designed from the ground up around livestreaming.YouTube is a platform designed from the ground up around pre-recorded videos, which half-heartedly stapled on livestreaming after it got popular and has since been transparent about how little they actually care about it.Livestreams are about being there as it's happening. It's about interactivity and spontaneity.Twitch understands that. YouTube doesn't.It's pretty simple.
>>88533093In the past I'd have said culture but I only watch 2views on Twitch and have blocked all emotes so really it's Youtube where I see the unwashed masses at their worst. I've watched 2views on Twitch since it was Justin.tv though, I just watch people where they stream.>Livestreams are about being there as it's happening. It's about interactivity and spontaneity.Never cared about this though, I'm often a vod watcher and will generally drop a streamer if they straight up talk to chat instead of just picking up occasional relevant or funny comments.
>>88533093Because I hate Twitch?Shit people, shit moderation, shit rules, shit VOD system, shit member content system, shitty hype trains.
>>88533093Youtube's UI is very simplistic and calm. Twitch fucks with my ADHD and is very annoying to the eye
>>88533093I like Twitch because streamers don't have to compete with kinds of videos other than streams. But more than that, Twitch is a better integrated space that feels more like and functions more like a community and not just a bunch of random entities competing for your attention.
I hate the constant shit on screen and noises interrupting the stream.>someone donated bits or donated? Loud noise and a big notification on screen for no reason.>someone activated some sound shit? haha here comes another fart noise>streamer stops paying attention or completely pauses the game to read a retarded donation>have to hear TTS read the shittiest jokes you heard in your life, trauma dump or some shitty 777 spamI'd rather get ads than deal with this shit.
>>88535339This. It's so fucking obnoxious. Especially tts. The subhumans that do that kind of shit sit there with the most retarded gleeful faces ever because hearing their shitty jokes spoken by tts is their highlight of their lives.YouTube is just way less intrusive and doesn't ruin the experience the way Twitch does.
im at work when most are streaming, so im usually watching VoDs, and Twitch is ass for that.Bonus Twitch Hate>What i can catch live, i need a separate ad blocker for the usually 2 minutes of unskippable ads if i dont want to use pop-out player>Twitch culture is incredibly annoying
I've been using YouTube my whole life. The idea of using something else is different and I hate change. Also twitchspeak annoys me so much, who the fuck is Andy?
>>88536346Andy Milonakis
>>88536346Andy Warhol reference
>>88533093Hololive is on Youtube.
>>88533731Based. I'm not watching ads on my free content. If I have to see a single ad, that shit ain't free.
>>88533093>open twitch>3 ads in a row>close twitch "inb4 just download adblock bro" the scripts and plugins for blocking twitch ads break weekly at this point, KYS. the website is just overall worse than it was in the 2016 era
>>88533093Prefer twitch personally>but the adsDon't be poor>but i don't want to pa-Don't be tech illiterate. Vaft has been there for years at this point.Life is good.
>>88536729can't even imagine anything more cucked than willingly giving twitch your money
>>88533093Youtube doesn't have the fleshtuber thots, so youtube. Twitch is a cancer on vtubing.
>>88536821https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=transparent+try+onhttps://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=naked+yogahttps://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=brazilian+wax
>>88533093does anyone else remember when twitch would ban you If you didn't have gameplay on screen for 30 minutes? It's why so many of the OG titty streamers would just idle in runescape.
>>88533731>>88536574>>88536627https://github.com/pixeltris/TwitchAdSolutions>break weeklyIt's been a long time since they last tried fucking with adblockers.Occasionally I have an ad slip through but I'm not autistic enough to sperg out about it.
>>88533093I hate both, but at the same time: Twitch is a LOT easier to manage than Youtube. Youtube and its account system fucking blows, and that's entirely because it's attached to my email account. That said, Twitch is speedrunning making me hate the site. Every tiem I go there there's some stupid fucking change that makes the site worse to use. I used to like it because I could dump it into quicktime (yeah I know post your satanias) and just watch streams independent of their shitty website and read chat through an IRC client, but they're starting to throttle those more and more, adding more and more time delays. So there may be a time soon when I go crawling back to Youtube.
>>88533945>YouTube discriminates less against vtubers than TwitchFor now. You think your cunny chuuba will survive YT 1-2 years later?
>>88533093Nobody on Twitch bothers to create weekly schedules or even just announcing what they will be doing on this particular stream on the notifications. They're just "hey, i'm streaming, come check me out!" I don't know ahead of time what you're streaming, so i never know whether the stream will be worth my time.
>>88533945Has because they’re outsourcing moderation after all the layoffs to fucking EGYPT of all places
>>88533387animated emotes are fucking cancer
>>88537372All signs point to yes.
>>88533945good luck making it anywhere as a small indie on youtube with the algorithm breathing down your neck. like that small italian chuuba who was a literal 1view for over 4 years until anons discovered her and pulled her from the pits of algo hell.
>>88538576Are there ANY big indie vtubers who stream exclusively on YT?
>>88533093>twitch doesn't keep vod archivesthis is why i don't bother
twitch vtubers usually have a youtube channel for vods, covers, etc. so having the streams there too is just nicer imo. Plus not a big fan of twitch chat culture
Youtube has its problems but twitch is fucking awful>extremely limited/no VODs>Terrible player>Much worse ads>Massive censorship>Staffed exclusively by sex pests and trannies>Removed the "Do not recommend" option and will keep showing you the same shitheads no matter how many times you say you're not interested>Hype trains, bits, drops hosts and a million other bullshit things for gaming the system instead of just streaming
>>88538708There are a lot of successful JP indies. Dunno about EN. Probably if there are any popular EN indies, they became popular by making videos and not by streaming.
>>88538576> literal 1view for over 4 years:(
>>88533093twitch is shit and everyone streaming exclusively on twitch is shit by association
>>88533093Youtube is VOD-focused which is better by default. Cross-channel emotes, bits, and channel points are cancer. The singular only solitary thing Twitch does better is targeted membership gifting.
Just imagine what happens when Google is split up and Youtube can no longer pay for the zetabytes of vods they have. Can you imagine what will occur?
>>88533093twitch despite all its ploblems is first and foremost a streamer site, for streaming. youtube only started adding streaming features when it became a popular thing, and to this day has no wider native streaming culture, so they treat that whole side of it as secondary, adding features that twitch has like raids and such years later.
>>88538708only pillowdear but shes not crazy popular either, and much like this anon says>>88539793she indeed became popular for uploading videos, ASMR stuff
>>88533093My Adblocker works on YouTube so that.
>>88540096SEA mad
>>88533093Twitch culture is cancer and ruined a whole generationAlso>>88535339>>88536187>>88534821
>>88541030you can stop samefagging we get it
>>88533093Twitch used to be better in a lot of ways, be most of those ways have slowly been stripped away over the past few years. Youtube has permanent vods, so I generally consider it better nowadays.
>>88540981for now. youtube has been cracking down lately
>>88541302Literally 90% of the thread hates Twitch, faggot.
>>885410304chan's culture of hate, bigotry, trolling, lies, etc. is much more corrosive and toxic than kids spamming emotes or looking at boobs on Twitch. Yet you and I still use this website, year after year.
>>88542491i have hear SEAs are not exactly great at math
>>88533093Literally almost every single thing about twitch is worse than youtube... except for the fact that twitch has actually searchable and sortable tags and categories, while with youtube it is simply impossible to manually search for anything you want if you don't already know ahead of time, it is just a fucking dice roll on whether the algorithm gatcha will show you something relevant or not.The very term '2view' itself came from how you are able to search things like 'vtuber' on twitch and order it by views from least to most and see hundreds of channels with literally just two views (them and their own stream in another window; ie people with literally no viewership). That kind of discovery simply can't be done in youtube.
>>88541302>everyone who says things i dont like is samefagging
My Oshi is on Youtube
>>88533093I don't watch lives and vods on twitch are betterSadly most of my chuubas are on yt
>>88542655I have heard SEAs aren't exactly great at English and you're proving it right.
>>88533093
>>88542581The difference between lies on 4chan and lies on any other big tech platform is that when a glownigger tells you lies on 4chan you can just call him a faggot; whereas the glownigger posting lies on discord or reddit or twitter was also the moderation staff and would just ban you instead.
>>88542800sad because youtube used to have easily searchable tags and categories which made it easy to find niche stuff, now fucking everything is about muh algorithms
>>88542491this is why we need to bring back the IP counter
>>88533945I like how you said less and not doesn't, I wish they weren't so shitty but it's better than the platform being actively against you.
>>88542800>>88543379Back in the day youtube actually suggested good related videos from high effort channels with 10-20k views, now it's all low effort clickbait with billions of views. The rich get richerHow the fuck did they ruin their own system so bad
>>88543480I mean there's no point in lying. YouTube doesn't like vtubers either but they don't actively go after them like Twitch does and are actually more lenient. It's the lesser evil.
>>88533093it's no contest, youtube is better in every conceivable way. Twitch has a horrible UI, horrible vod system, more ads, deletes audio all the time, makes it a huge pain to continue watching a previous video, and throws retards in your face constantly. Plus 99% of the vtubers are disgusting whores there. Youtube is the only platform, the only reason twitch even exists to me at all is to watch Neuro.
>>88533093I follow Tenma's belief of "both are shit, fuck you"
youtube, obviouslyadblockers work there, better video quality, i can find and watch vods, you can pause and rewind livestreams, downloading videos/streams is way easier
>>88533093Ad block doesn't work on twitch, even paying for twitch doesn't remove ads.Youtube ad block still somehow working no matter how hard youtube tried to kill it. And if you don't want the hassle of changing ad block every 6 months, Youtube premium removes ads for you.
>>88542800This is also why small corpos were basically a youtube thing too. Having a bunch of girls under one marketing umbrella allows for discoverability in a way that works around the youtube system. Id est, if one girl manages to break the surface and get a market share, it can serve as a pipeline to direct viewership to the other girls as well.
>>88535339None of those are Twitch features
>>88533093Up until a month ago I would have said youtube without hesitating. Then youtube started shadowbanning livechat comments with zero warning or acknowledgement and there's no way to contact them to resolve it other than some retarded xitter account that just links you their help page. Kyoani should have happened to them instead.
>>88533093low latency on twitch is scary, i have about 1 second delay to someone streaming across the ocean. i like twitch chat and emote culture, it allows a lot of third party tools and customization. also allows to stand out more in a large chat the only thing youtube has going is that adblocker still works, but probably not for long. and twitch ads are obnoxious.
>>88533093I don't, because I'm not a retard being tribal over a fucking website just because my oshi uses it.
>>88544745If you watch twitch it is what you get, so they may as well be twitch features.
Twitch not having any archives automatically makes it the worse of the two. That's completely unforgivable
>>88543815Simple: they realized that ElsaGate wasn't actually all that bad and turned a blind eye to the content farms that cropped up in the vacuum.
>>88547444Do you people realize how expensive hosting stream VODs is? I mean it's not like Twitch is owned by a massive server provider or anything.
>>88542800neuro wouldn't have been even 2view on youtube
>>88533093One filters the worst living creatures on earth the other doesn't. Easy choice.
>>88544745It's the Twitch culture. But yeah, nothing stops someone from YouTube to do the same.
>>88533945YouTube treats its streamers far worse than Twitch does to vtubers.
>>88533093I hate twitch’s ui so the tube
>>88533093both suck and you shouldn't be a corporate bootlicker. That said, most of the alternatives like rumble also suck
