It sort of made sense when Japan was closed, but they wouldn't even work to get talents into other mocap studios when it was infeasable for them to come to Japan (Mori, Kiara, and most recently Ina have all talked about this) and leeched the fuck out of Gura and Mori in the early days. Now-a-days they take FWMC because they are good lapdogs and had the strongest start for anyone in EN in the last 3 years.

A bit different now, but you can see the Japs still don't buy stuff or give them money to EN talents. Even streams that are filled to the brim with JP tourists get jack shit other than CCV and subs for FWMC. Could argue that showing those subs and CCV give them a better shot at getting a Sololive, but no one outside of Mori on the EN side (because of UMG) seems to think they can get a Sololive for some reason.

One of the biggest things people bemoan is the fact that the fun of off-collabs can't really happen with EN that much, but we're looking at changing that with a decent chunk moving to Japan. The only issue is that it may cause more dissolvimg of the EN branch as those who know Japanese might collab outside of EN instead of trying to make it better.
