Hello. I have a problem.

I bought a new laptop (ASUS vivobook 15 f512d) in 2020. In 2022, I dropped it and broke the screen. I bought a replacement screen and fixed it, but I must have done something wrong while reassembling it, because the back cover just broke. Specifically, the plastic part of the back cover that connects the back cover to the metal hinges broke. I ordered a replacement from China, but I'm not sure if I can fix this without fucking it all up again.

I have some data that is very important to me on this laptop and I would like to preserve it. Is there a laptop I can buy with specs that are as good as the ones of my Vivobook that I can buy and then just do hard drive swap on (I have a 2.5 inch HDD and an M.2 SATA SSD).

Thank you for your time.
