I want to create a very brief horizontal black to transparent gradient for an image. Currently I only have a black box below an image without any gradient. I can't find any free tools that allow me to do this that are good and simple. I tried one out but its a pile of shit. I want the exact same effect like in this pic.

If you want a tighter line dont drag the gradient as far as I did.

select black color
hold and drag cursor and hold ctrl to keep at 90 degrees
