I keep trying to find recordings of Chopin's music but almost everyones interpretations just don't meet my standards and my idea of how Chopin intended them to sound. What are some of your personal favourite recordings and interpretations of his music? I'm also looking for a few pieces in particular, includingOp. 15Op. 48Op. 55Op. 17Op. 30Op. 36Op. 28Op. 19Op. 57Op. 60I am also very susceptible to the power of suggestion so I'll probably like anything you recommend basically automatically
There's this guy named Vladimir Feltsman, he's not well known but his are the very first interpretations of the complete nocturnes cycle I've ever listened to and because of that I remember him fondly. His version of Op. 15 n.1 is my favorite, especially how he plays the contrasting middle section because most pianists play it either too slow making it sound dull, or so fast you can't even hear clearly the 2 note textures.
